Polyester(PET)is the largest variety in the modern chemical fiber market.During the development of chemical fibers,the properties of ordinary fibers can not meet the high-performance demands of market.The antibacterial color fiber not only endows the fiber with bright color but also meets people’s demand for antibacterial protection performance,which has become one of the important research directions of PET fiber.Compared with the traditional post-dyeing and finishing method,the antibacterial color PET functional fibers prepared by melt spinning method using antibacterial colored masterbatch shows great advantages,such as low pollution,high color fastness and long-lasting functionality.Excellent coloring properties and antibacterial properties were indispensable for antibacterial colored masterbatches.Besides,good processability,spinnability and fiber mechanical properties are also necessary.In order to obtain high-quality dope dyed antibacterial fibers,it is of great significance to prepare PET antibacterial color masterbatch.In this paper,Ag-embedding zirconium phosphate antibacterial agent and Ag-embedding titanium oxide antibacterial agent were applied in the preparation of red PET antibacterial fiber masterbatch with 20wt.%pigment and different content of antibacterial agent.The antibacterial,color,processing and mechanical properties of the masterbatch and fiber were investigated.The results indicate that the red antibacterial masterbatch with 10wt.%Ag-embedding titanium oxide antibacterial agent shows better dispersibility and spinnability.The L value and a value of the red plate were 45.21 and 51.12 respectively.Moreover,the antibacterial rate of the fibers against E.coli and S.aureus was 78%and 91%.However,the antibacterial rate of C.albicans did not fulfil the standard value of 60%stipulated by the national standard.On this basis,the effect of dispersant and carrier resin on the performance of red antibacterial masterbatch was further researched.The results show that compared with the nonpolar dispersant and ordinary polar dispersant,the addition of the super-dispersant containing polyester segments contributed to achieve evenly dispersion of pigments and antibacterial agents in the masterbatch,which also led to the tensile strength of the fiber increased by 6.3%.As the mass ratio of PET to PBT was 5/5,not only the color strength of the samples increased to 103.67,but also the tensile strength of the fibers increased by 21.3%to 3.19 cN/dtex.To enrich the color system of PET antibacterial coloring masterbatch,the same antibacterial agent was used to prepare yellow PET antibacterial fiber masterbatch.The results show that the yellow antibacterial masterbatch with Ag-embedding titanium oxide antibacterial agent also shows good dispersibility and spinnability.The L*value and b*value of the prepared yellow plate were 74.82 and 72.56 respectively.The bacteriostatic rate of E.coli and S.aureus was 81%and 92%,which showed the better antibacterial effect than red antibacterial fiber.Meanwhile,the bacteriostatic rate of C.albicans was still lower than the standard value stipulated by the national standard.Finally,the in situ reduction method was used to prepare rare earth-based antibacterial agent for the purpose that ameliorate the poor resistance of fibers against C.albicans.The main component of the novel antibacterial agent was cerium phosphate loaded with nano silver particles.And then the effect of the new antibacterial agent on the performance of the masterbatch was investigated.The results show that the masterbatch with 20wt.%pigment and 10wt.%antibacterial agent shows good spinnability,and the color strength of the sample was 102.21.Besides,the bacteriostatic rate of fibers against E.coli,S.aureus,and C.albicans exceeded more than 99%,which was much higher than standard value stipulated by the national standard.
