This research consists of three aspects:the aroma characteristics of honeysuckle;process optimization for the petroleum ether extraction of honeysuckle absolute and the supercritical fluid?CO2?extraction of honeysuckle essential oil, using GC-MS and GC-O to analyze these two volatile oils and determine the key components of honeysuckle aroma;the application of honeysuckle oils in tobacco flavoring.?1?The characteristic scent of dried honeysuckle mainly consists of a floral note and an herbal note, which are more noticeable in honeysuckle tea when the dried flower is brewed in hot water.?2?The optimum process for extracting honeysuckle absolute with petroleum ether is macerating it in petroleum ether for 3 hours at a temperature of 45?with the material-liquid ratio of 1:12.The optimal supercritical liquid extraction process for honeysuckle essential oil involves 2 hours of extraction with a CO2 flow of 20L/h under a pressure of 25MPa and a temperature of 40?.?3?The GC-MS method is used to analyze the honeysuckle absolute.Of the 37 compounds that are identified,74.07%are acids,12.35%alcohols,8.21%esters and 3.07%alkenes,which total up to 97.70%of the entire components map of the honeysuckle absolute.Among the identified components, linolenic acid tops the list with a content percentage of 24.07%.Palmitic acid comes second at 21.42%.The third on the list is linoleic acid with 16.29%in content.?4?The honeysuckle essential oil prepared through the supercritical liquid?CO2?extraction process is analyzed using GC-MS.Spectrum shows that the identified 68 compounds are mainly alcohols?44.48%?,alkenes?16.49%?,acids?12.73%?,aldehydes?7.88%?,esters?6.53%?and ketones?4.10%?.Their peak areas total up to 92.21%of the entire components area of the honeysuckle essential oil.Among the identified components, linalool covers the largest proportion, accounting for 10.91%,which is followed by 2-tridecanol?6.98%?,1-dococene?6.42%?,29 ene?5.74%?,palmitic acid?4.41%?,and hydroxycitronellal?4.30%?.?5?Honeysuckle essential oil has a natural fresh floral aroma,an obvious sweet aroma a slight green, and a subtle sour aroma.Honeysuckle absolute is rich in scent with the aroma attributes of honey, flower and fennel. The honeysuckle essential oil extracted with the supercritical CO2 method can better reflect the natural sweet aroma and the floral aroma of honeysuckle.?6?Honeysuckle essential oil has 5 key aromatic components, including phenylethanol?sweet floral aroma?,geranyl isovalerate?sweet fruity aroma?,citronellal hydroxy?green?,linalool?floral freshness?and allyl nonanoate?fruity aroma?.?7?When applied to cigarette, both honeysuckle volatile oils can improve the sweet floral aroma, refine, and enrich the smoke.Of them, the honeysuckle essential oil has a higher rating because it better enhances the natural freshness and sweetness of the cigarette smoke.
