As an important pillar of national economy and basic industry of modern industry,the level of development of iron and steel industry is not only an important indicator of a country's industrialization level,but also a country's economic level and an important manifestation of overall national strength.China's iron and steel industry has maintained rapid growth,a strong guarantee for the majority of steel materials required in our country and the development of related industries.At the same time,China's iron and steel industry is also facing overcapacity,insufficient high-end product supply capacity,serious homogenization of lowend products,lack of innovation and development ability,environmental pollution and many other issues.Under this background,China's iron and steel enterprises should not only adjust the regional distribution and market structure,but also to strengthen technology innovation,improving the technology innovation capability,enhancing the competitiveness of technology,seeking long-term development.Accurately understanding the basic pattern and competitive position of technological competitiveness is the premise of enhancing technological competitiveness.Therefore,it is of great significance to build an evaluation index system and find an evaluation method to measure the technological competitiveness of China iron and steel enterprises.This paper reviews the related literatures of enterprise technological competitiveness to study connotation and source of enterprise competitiveness in-depth.Then summarizing the technological competitiveness of iron and steel enterprises,combining the advantages of patent analysis and characteristics of technology development in the iron and steel industry enterprise,constructing the evaluation index system of competitiveness of technology in iron and steel enterprise based on input-output perspective.It includes four aspects: technical input ability,output ability,technical support ability and technical ability of energy saving and emission reduction,a total of 27 indicators.The weight of each index is determined by using entropy method.On this basis,the comprehensive index method is used to get the evaluation score of technological competitiveness.In this paper,we select 17 the listed companies in the iron and steel to do the case study.Under the indicators that we build,we try to explore the trends of the iron and steel in China and know the technology strength of the 17 listed companies.At last,we hope to find an effective way to enhance the technological competitiveness of iron and steel companies in China based on the evaluate results of companies' technological competitiveness.Conclusions of this paper are shown in below: 1)we summarized the development status and trends of the iron and steel in China,analyzed the sources of technological competitiveness.And then,we build indicators to evaluate the technological competitiveness between iron and steel companies based on technology investment and patent data.These indicators,which are selected in this paper,are useful for enrich the theory of technological competitiveness between companies and can help measure technological competitiveness in a more scientific way.2)from the case study,we can find that the gap between the listed companies in the iron and steel is still big,especially in the aspects of technology investment and technology strength.Besides,it is benefit for iron and steel companies to cooperate with each other to enhance their technological competitiveness.3)the technological competitiveness between the listed companies in the iron and steel mainly comes from technology investment capacity and technology achievement capacity.Moreover,the better economic base and technology innovation environment can promote companies enhance its technology achievement capacity.
