| In recent years,sitting has become the common posture for working in offices.In addition,there has been exponential growth in the number of elderly individuals and spinal cord injury(SCI)patients,most of whom are wheelchair dependent.Thus,the comfort of subject-specific interfaces plays an increasingly significant role in the well-being of patients and office workers and an approach for forming a comfortable subject-specific seating interface is urgently needed.The major content and achievements were shown above.This paper introduces a new method for forming a subject-specific interface based on vibrating grains to contour to a subject’s buttocks while the subject is sitting in an upright posture.Vibrating grains reduce the peak pressure under the ischial tuberosity and form an interface with an even-pressure distribution.1.Through the muscle-bone simplified model experiment,this paper verified the vibrated grains have mechanical characters that were indispensable for the comfortable seats with two aspects of theoretical calculation and finite element simulation analysis.The results showed that the vibrated grains could reduce maximum deflection(with measurements),strain energy(with simulation),elastic strain(with simulation).2.Twenty subjects(10 females and 10 males)participated in the sitting test.The interface comfort was evaluated by pressure distribution and subjective rating methods.Three vibration frequencies were used to form the seating interface,and these interfaces were compared with two other types of interfaces(flat and self-weight formed interfaces)in terms of both subjective ratings and pressure distribution.A correlation analysis was performed to analyze the interrelationship between the subjects’ feelings and pressure parameter values.The results showed that the interfaces formed by vibrated grains had a significant reduced(by more than 58.03%)peak contact pressure(PeakCP)compared with the flat interface,and a reduced PeakCP was highly correlated with an improved subjective rating(R=-0.533).3.However,it is not enough to simply measure the interface pressure.Because the mechanical properties of the soft tissues under pressure or force were unknown,which is the major pathogenesis of office disease or pressure ulcer.Consequently,It’ s an important to establish a three dimensional finite element model for further analysis.Because of the Upright MRT equipment that has not been formally introduced into China,it is an essential problem to extract buttocks outline in the sitting position.In this paper,the established system,which is used to simulate sitting posture and recording buttocks outline,solved the problem perfectly.The establishment of 3D human buttocks musculoskeletal model with Mimics,Solidworks,Geomagic studio software can utilize in finite element analysis which will be helpful for analysis of tissue stress.All this can be employed to seats and wheelchairs comfort quality study and pressure ulcer pathological research. |
