In the production of the medium thick cotton interlining,the grade of cotton blending is low,which leads to high impurity content and serious yellowing.With good scouring performance and high whiteness,rope scouring batch-process is usually adopted in the conventional pretreatment of medium thick cotton interlining.This batch-process by scouring and chlorine bleaching in kier loaded with cloth in rope form is a traditional pretreatment process applied widely in interlining industry.The main problems existed in the process are rope-like folds created on the fabric,longer process flow and higher producing cost,which can't meet the development needs of today's interlining enterprises.Therefore,it is necessary to study the short pretreatment process for medium thick cotton interlining.First of all,the open width technology is adopted to process the medium thick cotton fabric,which can effectively avoid the rope fold.However,compared with the rope scouring batch-process,the bleaching and impurity removal ability of the conventional open width process is weaker,and the fabric processed by it can't meet the production standard of interlining.In consideration of the fact that the flax fiber with the same cellulose fiber also has the problem of high impurity and serious yellowing,the paper refers to the open width pretreatment process of flax fabric,and the process of soaking the medium thick cotton fabric with high temperature alkali liquor and then stacking it at room temperature was tested out.The experimental results show that it can effectively reduce the number of fabric defects to meet the production standard of interlining.The optimized batch-process parameters of hot rolling alkali are as follows: NaOH:60g/L,scouring agent CP-NEW: 20g/L,scouring agent M-108: 10g/L,pad temperature: 90?,stacking time: 10 h.At the same time,the experiment of amylase desizing pad-batch process for medium thick cotton interlining was carried out.The experimental results show that it caneffectively remove the size,but can't remove the oil and impurities of the grey cloth.After this process,the wettability and gross effect of the fabric are still very poor,and the hot alkali pad-batch process still needed to scour and remove impurities.Secondly,on the basis of effectively reducing the number of fabric defects,the fabric is processed by the open width process of cold pad batch and steaming.Two kinds of cold pad-batch processes were used in this project.That is,alkali-peroxide cold pad-batch process and chlorine dioxide cold pad-batch process.The experimental results show that the whiteness of the medium thick cotton interlining treated by the hot alkali pad-batch process can reach the interlining production standard through the cold pad-batch process and steaming re-bleaching process.The capillarity and whiteness of the fabric treated by chlorine dioxide cold pad-batch process can reach the level of alkali-peroxide cold pad-batch process with a lower damage of the fabric strength and less dosage of chemicals,which reduces the environmental pollution.The optimized process parameters for chlorine dioxide cold pad-batch process are as follows: auxiliary CH: 60g/L,optimizing agent A: 20g/L,pH: 5,stacking time: 8h.Finally,three kinds of short process pretreatment processes of the medium thick cotton interlining were designed and the pilot scale production of them was carried out.The brief technological process is respectively as follows: hot alkali pad-batch process ? alkali-peroxide cold pad-batch process? oxygen bleaching(steaming);hot alkali pad-batch process ? chlorine dioxide cold pad-batch process? oxygen bleaching(steaming);amylase desizing pad-batch process ? hot alkali pad-batch process ? oxygen bleaching(steaming).The results show that the whiteness of the third process is slightly worse.For the other two processes,the whiteness,capillary and the number of defects per hundred meters of the fabric meet or exceed the production standard of interlining.To sum up,compared with the conventional rope scouring batch-process,there is a very good application prospect in the short pretreatment process of the medium thick cotton interlining proposed in this paper,which can make the fabric surface smooth without creases,with higher quality and lower cost.
