Under the pressure of international carbon emission reduction and the Chinese government's commitment to the United Nations, the Yangtze River economic belt,as an important support belt for China's economic development, has an economic and population total of more than 40% of the country. The Yangtze River economic belt is facing the dual challenges of economic development and energy conservation and emission reduction, and must strictly abide by the ecological red line of the Yangtze River economic belt. However, due to the great differences in economic and technological levels in different regions of the Yangtze River economic belt, there are problems such as high carbon emissions and unbalanced distribution of regional carbon emissions. To achieve the goal of carbon emission reduction in the Yangtze River economic belt, the key lies in accurate quotas among regions. Therefore,it is necessary to find out the current situation and causes of regional differences in carbon emissions in the Yangtze River economic belt, explore the relationship between various influencing factors and carbon emissions in different regions, and formulate relevant policies for carbon dioxide emission reduction according to local conditions, which will help the Yangtze River economic belt to achieve the goal of carbon emission reduction in the future.Based on the panel data of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River economic belt from 2001 to 2017,this paper first calculates the carbon emissions of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River economic belt, considering whether the end use of fossil fuels is used for combustion, and then analyzes the current situation of provinces and regions in the Yangtze River economic belt from three aspects of carbon emissions, per capita carbon emissions and carbon emission intensity;secondly,it uses the Theil index Based on the STIRPAT theoretical model,Douglas production function is used to directly measure the technical level. On the basis of the static panel model, the total population, urbanization level, economic growth, industrial structure, family size and technological progress are taken as indicators to construct the carbon emission shadow of the Yangtze River economic belt Dynamic panel model of response factors;from the static panel model and dynamic panel model based on sub construction,to explore the impact of various factors on the overall carbon emissions and regional carbon emissions;finally, based on the conclusions, put forward practical policy recommendations to achieve the goal of carbon emission reduction in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: the downstream area is the main contribution area of carbon emission;the per capita carbon emission difference is more significant, and the per capita carbon emission is more targeted when formulating carbon emission reduction policies;the regional difference is always less than the regional difference, the internal difference of carbon emission in the upstream area is the largest, and the contribution rate of regional carbon emission difference is the highest;on the whole, economic growth Length has the greatest impact on carbon emissions;from the regional perspective, urbanization level has the greatest impact on carbon emissions in the downstream areas, except for the lack of significant technological progress and negative family size, other variables are positively correlated, industrial structure has the greatest impact on carbon emissions in the central area, except for family size, other variables are positively correlated with carbon emissions, and economic growth has the greatest impact on carbon emissions in the upstream areas The impact is the largest, while the urbanization rate and household size have a negative correlation with carbon emissions;whether from the Yangtze River economic belt as a whole or from the lower, middle and upper reaches of the region, the lag term of carbon emissions are significantly positive, indicating that the carbon emissions in the previous period have a positive impact on the current carbon emissions, and the lag term coefficient of carbon emissions is the largest in the middle reaches of the region, followed by the upstream region, and finally the downstream region.
