Transformer oil is an important insulating medium for power transmission and transformation equipments.Its primary functions are insulation,arc-quenching,heat dissipation,cooling and protection.During the working period of the transformer oil,slow chemical changes will occur,and it will deteriorate constantly.Thus,the physical,chemical and electrical properties of the oil will be lowered,and the safe and stable operation of the transformer will be affected.This paper compares and analyses the aging trend of transformer oil and the impacts of temperature on the main performance indices with the transformer operation time increasing based on the basic properties testing of transformer oil,building the kinetic equation about oxidation reaction in order to predict the remain useful life of transformer oil.The experimental results show that temperature has important effect on the transformer oil aging.The acid value and dielectric loss factor will increase as well as the temperature.Meanwhile,the breakdown voltage of the transformer oil will decline.Especially when the temperature reaches to 100?.The kinetics equations of aging transformer oil about acid value,dielectric loss factor and breakdown voltage are built in order to calculate the remaining useful life.Then the inhibition effect of T501 is studied by change the dosage in 20#transformer oil.The results show that T501 can repress the degradation of transformer oil apparently,but that doesn't mean that the more dosage makes the better effect.The experimental results show that the transformer oil has the slowest aging velocity with 0.3wt%T501.In addition,the aging transformer oil is adsorbed and regenerated by conventional adsorbents,such as clay,silica gel,Al2O3,acticarbon and so on.The adsorption performance is compared according to the physical,chemical properties and electrical properties by testing of the regenerated oil,while determining the optimum adsorbent,adsorption temperature and dosage in order to lay a foundation for the recovery and regeneration process of waste transformer oil.The results show that silica gel and Al2O3 are most effective while different transformer oil have a different suitable adsorbent.The next suitable adsorbent is clay,but active carbon has little effect.It is found that 7.5wt%adsorbent is enough and the optimum adsorption temperature is 50?.Ag/TiO2-Al2O3 absorbent has remarkable effect on adsorption of DBDS in transformer oil,which can solve the copper sulfur corrosion issue of transformer oil from the root.The content of DBDS can be reduced by a large margin after adsorption.While the adsorption performances of different forms carrier are tested.The experimental results show that Ag/TiO2-Al2O3 powder has the best adsorption performance.
