Carbon emission,economy and environment are a interrelated and complex organic unity,and seeking the coordinated development among carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection is not only the most essential requirement of sustainable development theory,but also the effective way to realize the sustained,steady and rapid development of national economy.In recent decades,the sharp increase of energy carbon emissions driven by economic development leads to the global warming,which causes a series of environmental problems,and in order to realize the coordinated development among economic development,carbon emission and environment,the research chooses the evaluation indexes of carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection in China,and use panel data from 30 provinces in China in 2009-2018 and three stage DEA model to do the research on the coupling and coordination of carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection in China,based on the macro level.Firstly,make evaluation of China's carbon emission efficiency and clarify the current situation of carbon emission efficiency in China;Secondly,take the calculation results of carbon emission efficiency as the evaluation index of carbon emission subsystem,and put it into the coupling coordination model of carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection to measure the coordination level of three element coupling in China;Conduct space evolution analysis on the coupling coordination of carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection in China to reveal the characteristics of space distribution based on global spatial autocorrelation analysis(Global Moran's I),hot spot analysis(Getis-Ord Gi*index)and space analysis methods.The conclusions are shown as follows:(1)During 2009-2018,(1)There is slow growth of carbon emission efficiency in China with the average value of 0.500.(2)The difference of carbon emission efficiency between provinces in China is obvious and the distance is still constantly increase.From the perspective of space distribution,the high carbon emission efficiency areas in China are mainly concentrated in the economically developed areas along the eastern coast and the low value areas are mainly concentrated in the underdeveloped areas in the northwestinland.(3)In the coupling coordination degree of binary system in China in 2009-2018,the coupling coordination degree of carbon emission and environment is high and the coupling coordination degree of economy and environment is the lowest.Carbon emission is closely related to the environment,and the degree of coordination is generally high,with a national average of 0.728 in ten years.The regional difference of the coupling coordination degree of economic development and environmental protection is large,and the average value in 10 years is only 0.449.In 2009-2018,the coupling coordination degree of China's carbon emission and economic development generally shows a slowly rising trend,with an average value of 0.622.The binary coupling coordination degree generally shows a state of high in the East and low in the West.(4)The coordination degree of three element coupling of carbon emission-economic development-environmental protection in China in 2009-2018 basically maintains stability with the average value of 0.669,which is at the primary level of coordinated development.In recent ten years,all provinces have reached the level of coordinated development,but there are also obvious differences between provinces and areas.In general,the cities in a high level of coordination are still mainly concentrated in the eastern coastal areas,while those in the inland areas with weak economic development have poor coordination,which is basically consistent with the level of dual coupling coordination.(5)The global Moran's I index has changed from 0.423632 in 2009 to 0.2729 in2018,showing a trend of attenuation,indicating that the efficiency concentration degree of China's three coupling coordination degree of carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection has weakened,and the correlation degree of each province has decreased.On the whole,the global Moran's I index of China's carbon emission economic development environmental protection coupling coordination degree is relatively small in 2000-2018,which indicates that the overall concentration of China's carbon emission economic development environmental protection coupling coordination degree is still low,and the mutual influence ability of each province is weak.(6)The number of hot and cold spots of space distribution of the coordination degree of three element coupling of carbon emission-economic development-environmental protection in China in 2009-2018 reduces,China's carbon emission,economic development and environmental protection are developing in a favorable direction on the whole,but the speed of coordinated development in different regions is slightly different.The hot point areas of the coordination degree of three element coupling of carbon emission-economic development-environmental protection in China in 2009-2018 are mainly concentrated in eastern coastal area and the cold point areas are mainly concentrated in northwest inland areas,which has formed the situation of low in the west and high in the east.
