| With the launch of the "Toilet Revolution" across the country,media attention has increased.This action is an important national deployment in the environmental field.The action can reflect three dimensions of the country’s image: regional dimension,national dimension and government dimension."Toilet Revolution" report comprehensively constructed the national image.Since 2015,China has launched a "toilet revolution" nationwide.This action covers a wide range of influence and lasts for a long time.The research on China’s national image is representative and typical."People’s Daily" and "Guangming Daily" represent the main position of internal communication,and "China Daily" represents the main position of external communication.Through the analysis of the reports,we summarize the characteristics of the report and discuss the content and discourse characteristics of the media’s construction of the national image,and summarize from which aspects of the mainstream Chinese media construct the national image.A total of 490 nreports from People’s Daily,Guangming Daily and China Daily from 2015 to 2019 were selected as samples,and content analysis,discourse analysis and comparative research methods were used to in-depth relevant news reports in the three newspapers.Analysis,through the combination of quantitative research and qualitative research to analyze the report and the construction of the country’s image.From the perspective of content analysis,the three newspapers construct a national image through positive and positive toilet revolution reports;from the perspective of discourse analysis,the three newspapers comprehensively shape the national image through multiple construction methods.The reports constructed the national image from the following aspects: an ecologically livable rural image,an open and environmentally friendly city image,a service-oriented government image,and a responsible country image.The lack of reporting is manifested in the lack of international dialogue and communication,the single source of the report,the lack of detailed descriptions in the grand narrative,and the single nature of the report.Finally,suggestions are made for the shortcomings: accurate positioning,strengthening the leading role of mainstream media in public opinion;focusing on environmental diplomacy and enhancing the discourse of international dialogue;enriching the sources of coverage and comprehensive coverage in multiple channels;appropriately increasing photo coverage and improving visual communication. |
