In this paper,The test of rock mass mechanical parameters for the cretaceous red rock in the high slope is studied,according to huaihua section of changsha-kunming passenger special line,the main contents are as follows:1.The test of the rock physical and mechanical parameters of red sandstone:the uniaxial compressive strength test,rock deformation and rock shear strength test;2.the sandstone rock mass strength parameters and test method of determining the research,test method for the large direct shear tests;3.The study of the rock surface shear strength parameters and test method of determining the research;4.The red sandstone's rock mechanics parameters is estimate,using the Q value,RMR and GSI method.5.According to the field direct shear test and structure rock mass strength test of muddy siltstone,the Controllable factors of rock strength are determined as joint,fissure,bedding and so on,the shear strength is mainly affected by the surface roughness,flatness and structure characteristics,the value of the shear strength of rock cohesion and Neimocha angle parameter is between the rock shear strength and the rock mass shear strength.
