In recent years,with the rapid development of social economy and prod uction technology,many novel and unique structures were designed,and those structures are mostly irregular to meet the needs of building function or building appearance.The seismic design of those irregular buildings become the most important and difficult part in the structural design.Seismic isolation technology and seismic energy dissipation technology as the the most mature structure control technology is now commonly used,some structures have experienced real seismic test,and showed a excellent per formance in dissipating seismic energy,improved the safety of the structure.Seismic isolation technology can isolate the superstructure and ground motion via flexible isolation bearings between superstructure and basement.Bearings can greatly reducing seismic response of the superstructure by extending the period of the structure,and reducing the energy transfer to the superstructure;Seismic Energy Dissipation Technology can dissipating the seismic energy by the energy dissipation braces installed in the specific parts of the structure,which will have a yielded plastic deformation or friction when seimic comes.So it can reduce the seismic response of main structure.Therefore,through a reasonable design,we can apply the Seismic Isolation Technology and Seismic Energy Dissipation Technology to the irregular structures,and greatly reduce the seismic response of the structure,improve the abbility of earthquake resistant,guarantee the safety of the structure.The main purpose of this paper is to study how to apply seismic isolation technology and seismic energy dissipation technology to irregular structures to improve the performance of the structure under the earthquake action and summarize the design process and key points of the seismic isolation and seismic energy dissipation.The first chapter introduces the general situation of the development of seismic isolation technology and seismic energy dissipation technology,and the applications in engineerings,then summarizes the structure analysis model and analysis methods of rubber bearings,BRB and viscous damping;secondly,this paper introduces the general situation of the engineering case's architectural ang structure design,analysis the engineering case's irregularities,and introduces respectively movement based isolation technique and energy dissipation damping technology on the structure of irregular structure and main points of the control method to improve the performance resist earthquake.finally compare the damping effect of two scheme,such as:(1)period,(2)floor shear force and overturning moment,(3)the story drifts,(4)The hysteretic energy dissipation performance of the bearings and energy dissipation braces.In this paper,through the analysis of two kinds of structure control sc hemes,the conclusion is drawn as follows:(1)Through reasonable design,seismic isolation technology and seismic energy dissipation technology can the improve the structural seismic performance.(2),The optimal design of the isolation layer is the most important par of seismic isolation design when we apply seismic isolation technology to irregular structures,we should adjust the bearings stiffness and position to meet the requirement of structural's torsion resistance ability without too much eccentricity ratio of isolated layer.(3)Viscous damper and BRB combined application can effectively increase the structural energy dissipation effect..(4)As a prerequisite,to effective control the structure drift ratio,the period ratio and the story drift of the,the seismic isolation scheme of the damping effect is better than the seismic energy dissipation scheme,but the cost of seismic energy dissipation scheme is better than the seismic isolation scheme.The research of this paper can provide some reference for the design of complex irregular structure or the common structure of the isolation and damping,I hope it can help to promote the development of structural control techniques.
