Nowadays it is much necessary for manufacturing enterprises to equip with high efficiency?low cost?high quality?stable operation and short production cycle of the production line.High-efficiency production line can not only create huge economic benefits for the enterprise but help the enterprise to create good social benefits.In recent years,as continuously increasing production and labor costs,A company is increasingly aware of the importance of backlog of work in progress and improving production efficiency,how to improve A company's productivity is an urgent problem in need of addressing especially under the condition of the growing expanding market demand.There are many methods to improve of the production line balancing problems such as industrial engineering method,heuristic algorithm and optimization and simulation.Different research methods are adopted according to an enterprise's different requirements.For example,simple industrial engineering method rather than complex method should be applied to solve single production line balancing problem;relatively complex algorithm should be applied to solve some multistage machining processes complex production line in modeling.Heuristic algorithm includes genetic algorithm?ant colony algorithm?simulated annealing algorithm,etc.Much literature merely adopted the industrial engineering method to analysis and research resulting in boundedness to some degree.So this article effectively combines genetic algorithm with industrial engineering methods to study A company's production line on the basis of reading literature to achieve the purpose of solving the line balancing problems of A company.First,an on-the-spot investigation of A company's current production situation and the actual operation condition of production line was carried on.After A period of investigation and study it was founded that there have many problems in A company.On the basis of constant studying the problems in A company,the assembly workshop production line chassis was taken as the research object.Industrial engineering method is applied to analyze the process flow and determine the operation time of A company chassis assembly workshop production line.And then after the analysis of homework time measurement data from the research it was founded that there is a big problem in the balance of the chassis assembly workshop production line of A company.Therefore,associating the reality of A company,mathematical model and process flow chart of line balancing problem are established and the combination of genetic algorithm combined and Matlab software is adopted to program and solve the established model.Then identify the chassis assembly workshop production line of A company location allocation improvement scheme;on the basis of the above improvements,improvements that can supply material timely and accurately and meet the needs of the company's production are put forward by combining the problems existing in the mode of assembly workshop material pulling with spectacular management.At last,Witness software is applied in this article to establish the chassis assembly workshop production line simulation model of A company.By analyzing the simulation model it is founded that using genetic algorithm to improve the chassis assembly workshop production line of A company works well.Production line's idle time is much lower than the original one and production line's busy time is most more than 80%.Analysis results show that:The rate of chassis assembly workshop production line balance increases from 70.8%to 91%,production line bottleneck procedure time decreases from 180s to 140s,the line smooth index reduces from 62 to 16,man-hour utilization rate for each station reach to a more balanced situation and the balance of the production line is advanced.The application of genetic algorithm to solve model of line balancing problem is proved to be validly and practical.
