With long period developing,vending machines which are introduced into our country since the 1990s have already integrated into people’s daily life now.The vending machines have already been widespread in some places where people are more intensive,such as:hospitals,schools,subways,etc..,and thus have brought great convenience to our lives.But the shortcomings of the vending machines such as multiple faults,easy of out of stocking and too scattered have also brought problems of high in labor management costs and difficult in analyzing business data to the vending machine operator.To effectively improve management efficiency,service levels and quality of service vending machines,it is necessary to develop a set of systems which can realize real-time management and remote monitoring to the vending machine.Based on this,this paper designs and develops a set of mobile-communication-network based vending machine remote monitoring system.First,this paper introduces the research background,the current development state of the vending machines and a detailed description of the composition framework based on mobile communication network remote monitoring platform vending machines,and makes a brief exposition on the used related techniques during the process of system design and development.Secondly,this paper gives a detailed description on the key problems of the platform system-the communications and data transmission problem between the remote vending machine and the central server.The paper adopts the SOCKET communications technology which is based on TCP/IP to complete the data transmission function.The system uses sensors to collect the operating state of all the key components of the vending machine,sales of goods,inventory and other information,and through the GPRS network which can enable the data transmission function to build a communication based on the Socket between the vending machine terminals and remote server,and sends the information data to the sever.Meanwhile,to solve the communication between the multi-vending machines and the central server,the system uses the JAVA multi-threading technology which provides a good way to ensure the quality of the communication and transmission of data.Finally,this paper describes the design and implementation of the system database and the Web online management subsystem achieved through using Java Web technology.The web subsystem is designed according to B/S mode,and then vending machine operators can keep abreast of the operating state of the machines,the inventory and sales information by logging web site.Meanwhile,based on the sales data in the database,the web subsystem also provides data analysis and simple decision support for the operators.The development of the system provides a new model for the management and operation of vending machines.Currently,the platform has been put into service and the operations have proven that the vending machine remote monitoring platform based on the mobile communications network not only improves the management efficiency of the operator,but also greatly improves the operating efficiency.Meanwhile,the platform has the characteristics of safe,stable,friendly interface,etc.
