In recent years,the consumers's requirements for the electrical products's graphical interface are getting higher and higher with the continuous improvement of hardware performance of electronic products.In order to adapt to the new hardware architecture and display requirements,the Linux developers design the DRM(Direct Rendering Manager)subsystem to manage the system's display resources.Driven by the demand for consumer electronics products,the graphical interface's design requirements on the automotive electronic products are also getting higher and higher.Large-screen and multi-screen become the future direction of the development.Currently,the proportion of the vehicle central control system products using the Linux as the product operating system has more than 30%.However,for the Linux operating system product application developers,the DRM subsystem is less familiar,and the research of the DRM subsystem becomes an important issue.This paper is based on the DRM subsystem,and analyzes the implement method of the display control on the vehicle central-control system.And then put forward a feasible display control solution.Around this goal,this paper is divided into three stages to gradually explore the solution:1.Through the tracing the Linux graphics system's development history back and the design features's comparison between framebuffer display device driver and DRM display device driver,try to demonstrate the necessity of the revolution of Linux display driver.2.Through the research of the DRM mode management mechanism and memory management mechanism and the DRM display device driver initialization process,try to explore the DRM subsystem's the working principle and design composition.3.Through the analysis of the implementation method for the each typical application scenarios of the vehicle central-control system's display requirements,try to explore the display control solution of vehicle central-control system realized by the DRM subsystem.In this paper,through the analysis and demonstration of the DRM subsystem,finally to explore an effective display control solution for the vehicle central-control system.This solution is proven to be an effective design on the R-Series soc's development platform.Through the application of this design,the target platform achieves the driver and control of the display device successfully.The developer can effectively manage and control the display logic in each application scenario through the display control module.And the layer switching and multi-screen interaction can be achieved to the desired results.This paper provides a new idea for the development of automotive electronic enterprises based on the Linux operating system.Especially,this paper puts forward the design basis of the product's multi-screen extension,it make a certain contribution for the next generation of enterprise product's R&D.
