This thesis is a reflection on the core issues for the operation of non-coal trains in the exploring process of the key projects "Study on the Technology Optimization of Large Logistics Transport Mode under the Regional Control System of the Baotou-Shenmu Railway Group" conducted by Shen Hua Group Corp.Based on the existing research results at home and abroad,deep exploration of the Baotou-Shenmu Railway and the field research on non-coal transport business have been conducted.By means of comparative analysis,this thesis attempts to propose the basic ideas,techniques,and methods for the organization scheme of non-coal trains in the condition of transport capacity release of coal transportation,which is of practical significance for the development of non-coal transportation business by traditional railway coal transportation enterprises in China.The main study contents of this thesis are as follows:First of all,this thesis starts with the identification of research issues and scope.And then it makes the definition of transport capacity release of coal transportation,and determines the non-coal transport organization as the research object.With the clear research ideas,this thesis carries out a further analysis to the characteristics of non-coal goods and transport organization,and studies the organizational model of non-coal trains based on marketization and logistics ideas.Secondly,this thesis comes up with an analysis of the feasibility of developing non-coal transport business for traditional coal transport railway enterprises at the macro level with the SWOT method.Internal strengths,internal weaknesses,external opportunities,and external threats have been analyzed to be cross-referenced and put forward the improving measures.At the regional level,according to survey and statistical data this thesis discusses the feasibility of developing non-coal transport business around the Baotou-Shenmu Railway from the two aspects of the regional industrial structure and the competitive landscape,which provides methods and theoretical references to other railway enterprises which tend to develop the same business.Then,combining the characteristics of non-coal transport organizations under the condition of transport capacity release of coal transportation and considering important elements such as the resource allocation,limited transport capacity,station's handling capacity,time window of site service,and punctuality of cargo transportation,this thesis builds an organization scheme model of non-coal trains on the basis of the network methods of discrete space-time and the model theory of Vehicle Routing Problem With Time Windows(VRPTW).Next,based on the characteristics of the organization scheme model of non-coal trains and the analysis of difficulties in problem solving,this thesis is going to solve the model by adopting genetic algorithm which will be elaborated on its basic principles and implementation flows.Finally,a small case is designed in this thesis to use Lingo to solve the model.After discussing the influence of parameters and further improving the model,depending on the actual data of the Baotou-Shenmu Railway and the large-scale data of cargo flow constructed before,we use a genetic algorithm coded by MATLAB to solve the model,thus verifying the practicality of the model and providing a meaningful reference for the real non-coal transportation organizations.
