| The old city of Xicheng district is an area where concentrate the traditional culture of Beijing.The coordination of the protection of the old city and the development of transportation is the key to the construction of the old city.With the continuous increase of private car ownership in the urban area,existing old urban road systems are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of modern urban mobility.Traffic jam,parking difficulties and other issues are increasing,which become the hot topic in the research of old town’s road system planning.This paper is based on an in-depth understanding and summarization of the theory and practice of road system planning in the old city of China and abroad.Taking the current road system in the old city of Xicheng District of Beijing as the research object(there are 15 historical and cultural protected areas in the area),using literature Collation,field research and statistics,qualitative analysis,and combined with GIS quantitative analysis research methods,I firstly investigated the old city’s road system in Xicheng district and summarized its existing problems through GIS analysis.After that,I researched the feasibility of road planning.And finally,I proposed road system optimization strategies and methods for the old city of Xicheng District according to relevant theories and practical guidance.The main contents of this paper are as follows.:1.Analyze the theoretical and practical experience related to the planning of the old city road system at home and abroad.This paper studies the overview of protection and renewal of historical cities,the development of urban road system planning and the feasibility study of road planning.Based on these theories,the application of old city road system planning theory in practical planning is studied.We have mainly developed the theory and practical experience of public transportation,traffic calming and traffic microcirculation,and studied the planning experience of the Old City of Bass,La Rambla in Barcelona,and Motomachi,Yokohama,Japan,as a theoretical support for the full text.2.In-depth analysis of the existing status and problems of the old city road system in Xicheng district.Firstly,the development of the road planning of the old city in Beijing was studied.Then,the development of the old city road in the Xicheng District and the development status of the roads in the Xicheng District in 2006 and 2010 were outlined.Based on this,with the application of GIS technology,it analyzes the status and problems of the road system(external traffic,road network density,the public transport system,slow traffic system,parking systems,etc.)in the old city of Xicheng District.3.To study the feasibility of planning roads in Xicheng district,based on the current situation investigation,we compared the current situation of the road with the controlled detailed planning of Xicheng District in 2006,summarised the implementation rate of planned roads.And according to the specified indexes,we studied the implementability of the unimplemented roads and non-incorporated roads.This analysis will guide the next step in the road system planning.4.Proposed the planning and management optimization strategies and methods for the old city road system in Xicheng district.Based on the existing problem of old city road system in the Xicheng district,according to the conclusions of the feasibility study of the planned road,the optimization strategies and methods are proposed from the aspects of the road system planning and management.And we produced specific optimization plan for the typical road.This paper,with the quantitative and qualitative analysis of on-site survey data,studies the current status of the road system and feasibility of planning roads.It also proposes planning and management optimization strategies for the old urban road system in Xicheng District,with a view to providing a methodological reference for other similar old city road system planning. |
