Electric energy meter is an integral part of people's daily life.With the continuous development of science and technology and the need to increase productivity and efficiency,a new generation of intelligent smart meters has gradually become the country's most basic means of scientific electricity management.Therefore,it is necessary to develop a multi-functional electric energy meter to realize energy metering and intelligent detection.Therefore,it is of great practical significance and broad market space for the in-depth research and design of smart meters.This article first introduced the current development trend of the electric energy meter,pointed out the defects of the traditional electric energy meter,the function is simple,the accuracy level is poor,can not automatically meter reading,can not meet people's demand for electric energy meter;with the rapid development of electronic technology,Intelligent electronic energy meters have become the current mainstream development trend.The smart energy meter has the following advantages: high precision,high reliability,and automatic remote meter reading.The smart energy meter can meet people's needs well,complete the measurement of various complex environments and realize intelligent management.Then introduced the principle and method of energy metering,as well as based on the TDK6521 special measurement IC development and design of the energy meter,the electrical circuit in detail described the hardware circuit design and system software design process.Finally,through the equipment provided by the electric energy meter manufacturer,the designed electric energy meter is verified to ensure that all indicators of the designed electric energy meter meet the expected design requirements.Based on the 71M6521 chip developed by TERIDIAN,this single-phase electronic energy meter is manufactured using advanced microelectronics technology and SMT production technology.Its performance index is in accordance with IEC62052-11:2003 and IEC62053-21:2003 Class 1 and Class 2 Static active design.This energy meter measures single-phase AC power with a voltage of 220V/230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz/60 Hz,and it has anti-tamper,reverse charge counts in forward,display rollover,low power display,RS485 communication,Infrared communication and other functions,is an ideal smart energy meter that changes the traditional way of using electricity to improve the level of power management.The greatest advantages of this energy meter are: high reliability and low cost,strong market competitiveness,mass production,and high value for the company.
