With the continuous development of China's western development,the highway construction in the infrastructure is developing rapidly,and the using of balance weight retaining wall is becoming more and more extensive.Balance weight retaining wall has many advantages,such as the filling soil on the counter increases the wall body stability,the back of the wall to reduce the wall body and the foundation excavation and cut the area of the wall body,etc.,thus it is widely used in engineering support structure.However,it takes a lot of time to get a cross-section of economy and security in the conventional design but the end result is not necessarily optimal,and you have to try to do it over and over again.Therefore,the research on the optimization design of balance weight retaining wall has certain practical significance and economic value.The content of this paper is mainly from the following three aspects.Firstly,the commonly used theory of soil pressure and its adaptive range are discussed.The soil pressure calculation under special circumstances is analyzed,such as a second failure surface of soil pressure calculation,the earth pressure calculation of mansard wall back,earth pressure calculation of cohesive soil and soil pressure under the action of earthquake.Based on the above theory of soil pressure and the relevant design manual,the calculation formula of soil pressure applied to the shoulder retaining wall of the road of weighing type is derived.According to the constraint conditions of the optimal model,the stability of the retaining wall against slip,the stability against overturning,the eccentricity of the base stress and the resultant force,the strength of the wall section and the structural requirements are taken as the constraint conditions of the optimization model.Next,in view of the complexity of the conventional design method and the non-optimality of design results,a genetic algorithm is proposed to optimize the design of the balance weight retaining wall.The basic principle of genetic algorithm is explained,then genetic encoding method is introduced.The reproduction and crossover and mutation genetic operators carefully are analyzed.And it lays a theoretical foundation for the establishment of the optimization model of the balance weight retaining wall.Finally,retaining wall's section area is taken as the objective function,nine design variables that affect the target function are selected,and regarding retaining wall's stability and structural requirements as constraint conditions.Then the design optimization model of balance weight retaining wall is established.After an M file with objective function and constraint condition is prepared by using MATLAB advanced mathematical analysis tools,then the genetic algorithm GA toolbox was used to optimize the design model of retaining wall.In addition,the individual cases of G356 road reconstruction project in Weining county,Guizhou province were selected for verification,at last a good result is get thought comparing the results of conventional design and optimization design.
