Street space is the place where citizens commit frequently daily acivities. The popularity of the Internet has reduced the frequency of people's daily activities. The motorization of the street environment has further eroded the attraction of public spaces.Street life is disappearing. And the significance of the streets is fading. In recent years, since top-down construction of streets development ignores the use of pedestrians, there is no specific way to get feedback the psychological satisfaction of the streets-space participants. This paper based on the analysis of the current research on domestic street areas, provides a model combining rational empirical analysis and image data analysis,in order to carry out a pedestrian space segment with different styles within the representative urban Residential Street space in Nanning City.Hopefully this paper can complement present street interface assessment method, also provides an unique reference value for constructing pleasant and dynamic street space in cities like Nanning.Based on the combination of qualitative and quantitative research, this article draws on the existing street interface research methods and narrows the research object into pedestrian spaces on both sides of Residential Streets. With the perspective of pedestrians, this paper sorts out the current situation of Residential Streets in Nanning. In summary,it choses two sample streets for deeper research on the spatial interface statistics. The objective quantitative evaluation method for the pedestrian space interface is explored by taking a side-by-side and segmented view of the different streets in the pedestrian space in sample street. And introducing gridded isometric units to compensate for the accuracy drawbacks of present research method in the pedestrian space. In this paper, the evaluation of the spatial interface begins with the building interface and the environment interface, consisting of the bottom interface, the side interface and the top interface. The two-dimensional planar image measurement method is used to calculate the goal of continuousness, scale, and comfort of the environmental interface, interface density and aspect ratio.Based on purely rational calculations, this paper uses field surveys to obtain spatial participants' real perception of interface continuity and spatial scale perception, verifying the evaluation conclusions and giving suggestions. The environmental interface factor in the walking space is measured quantitatively.Through the method of street-view image measurement, the green vision, and openness of pedestrian space are both measured. On the basis of purely rational measurement, real comfort perception was obtained through field surveys and questionnaires were combined with the spatial vitality chart to verify the conclusions. On the basis of rational measurement, the perception of the environmental interface evaluation was obtained through field surveys. In conjunction with the spatial vigor diagram, the conclusions of the both evaluation are simultaneously.Based on the summary of the advantages and disadvantages of the conclusion,a quality improvement strategy is proposed for the relevant pedestrian space. In summary, this paper complements the existing street space interface evaluation methods. In practice, more consideration needs to be given to street function and interface diversity.Subsections and interface assessments are used to replace unified assessment methods on both sides of a complete Residential street. This method refines the depth of evaluation and facilitates in a more complete way.Combining research with real streets in Nanning makes this method also suitable for promotion in residential area in other Chinese cities.
