The use of fire is an important symbol of human entering civilized society.The development history of lighting is also starting from the use of fire as lighting source.With the continuous progress of science and technology,lighting transition from fire to electric lighting era,and successively experienced four generation of electric light source.The typical products of each generation of electric light source are incandescent lamps,fluorescent lamps,high intensity discharge(HID)lamps and white light light-emitting diode(LED)lamps.In this thesis,the working principle of all kinds of electric light sources was briefly introduced.Then some important performance parameters,such as electrical,optical and chromaticity of some electric light sources commonly used in the market are measured in detail.Based on the results of the measured data,the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of electric light sources were compared and analyzed.It is shown that the spectral shape of the incandescent lamp is closest to the sun light,so it is most suitable for lighting.But because of its low luminous efficiency(11.81m/W),it has gradually withdrawn from the lighting stage.With the advantages of high luminous efficiency(58.51m/W),moderate price,the fluorescent lamps have been used for a long history and become one of the most widely used electric light sources.However,due to the heavy metal contamination,short life and fragility,the usage of fluorescent lamps has been decreased gradually.Even with the high luminous efficiency(80.0lm/W),the use range of the HID lamps is limited by the inherent disadvantages of low color index and long starting time.The LED lamps as a lighting product is used only less than 30 years,but the comprehensive performances are obviously superior to other three generation lighting products.With the advantages of high luminous efficiency(99.4-1111m/W),adjustable continuously color temperature between 3000-10000K,small size,long lifetime,short start time,no flicker,energy saving and environmental protection,the LED lamps have been gradually replaced other lighting products with rapid speed,extending to almost all lighting areas including campus lighting.Because students are in an important stage of growth and development,lighting health is particularly important for campus lighting.Compared with fluorescent lamps which are currently widely used in campus lighting,LED lighting is more effective,which are 8.5 and 1.7 times higher than that of incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp,higher color-rendering index which is 86,and adjustable continuously color temperature between 3000-10000K which can meet the needs of different lighting functions,thus,LED lamps will replace the fluorescent lamps and become the main product of campus lighting.On the other hand,for campus lighting,in addition to satisfying the requirements of illumination,the non-visual effects must be considered intensively to meet the requirement of safe,comfortable and environmentally friendly campus lighting can be achieved.Different color temperature lighting lamps must be selected with different functional areas of campus.For classroom,library,and self-study rooms,high color temperature(5000-6000K)lighting lamps are contributed to concentrate students' attention and improve comfort for long time using.For dormitory area,low(3000-3500K)lighting products are conductive to students'sleeping.
