Study On Reconstruction And Reuse Of Silo Type Industrial Structure

With the continuous adjustment of urban renewal and industrial structure,more and more attention has been paid to the reutilization of industrial heritage in developed countries.The historical value attributes of industrial heritage have been gradually found and recognized by people.The practice of industrial heritage protection started late in China,and the mode of transformation and reuse tends to be unity.In recent years,China has also realized the importance of the protection of industrial heritage,and has carried out research and practice on evaluation and adaptation.However,the current practice of protection and reconstruction of factory buildings and the factory are generally present,The industrial construction like chimneys,water towers and cylindrical silos are far less behind and has been shelved and abandoned in many of cases.Although the society and technology have been greatly improved and developed nowadays,the remains are of special practical and theoretical value.Industrial construction has been an important but often neglected branch of the industrial heritage.They have the characteristics of an industrial heritage and also have their own characteristics.Silo-type construction has special attributes on structure research and occupy an significant position in researching industrial construction which have had values on history,scientific technology,aesthetic and environment.At present,most of the studies on industrial structures focus on concepts,features,etc.There has not established a clear systematic study especially in the aspects of classification,characteristics and preservation of industrial structures.Silo-type building was rarely involved.Most of researches were limited and confined to landscape level.The research approaches used in this essay consist methods of multidisciplinary,case analysis,and summation induction.It is aimed to reconstruct and revive the characteristic of industrial relics under the principle of industrial heritage protection.Silo-type building on this basis will be refined and summarized from the aspects of historic value,structural adaptiveness,practicability,spatial characteristics.In addition,a study has been made through extracting and re-utilizing silo-type reconstructions in domestic and foreign cases,mainly focused on both functional and spatial aspects.The main purpose of this essay is to sort out the significance of preserving silo-type construction through their evaluation.Additionally,the preservation methods on protecting silotype buildings will be studied and concluded.Finally,it discussed the methods of reusing silotype industrial structures and emphasized their vital significance.The aim is to establishes a sense of protection for industrial structures.
