The Research Of Industrial Heritage Cluster In Tianjin As The Center Of The Zhili Province

Industrial heritage protection research in China is still in the stage of exploration. The present study of industrial heritage mainly on the protection and reusation of industrial buildings such as space, structure and style. The established industrial heritage recognition and protection system also base on industrial building. But the industrial heritage should not be limited to the industrial building, it still should includ process flow, machinery and equipment, enterprise culture and other related content. Therefore, the study of industrial heritage should include all the infotmation.Only in this way, industrial heritage can be assessed accurately.Tianjin as industrial centre in Zhili area, not only is a microcosm of Chinese modernization, more reflect the cultural exchange between Tianjin and the world. From the westernization movement in the late Qing dynasty to the period of the republic of China’s "golden decade" to the Japanese occupation of depression, as early open port city, Tianjin acting as a window, exchanges with the development of the world. Also Tianjin is not sealed, it reflects the complexity of the relationship in political, rights and interests between the Chinese and foreigner. Foreign factory which has abundant capital and advanced technology is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, resources plundering and supplies for China’s industrial dumping, on the other hand also prompted Chinese probe the way of industrial development, actively introduce foreign advanced technology. Therefore choose Tianjin the magnate in recent history as the research object, is more beneficial to grasp the modern industrial information in all its aspects.This article first summarize the industrial heritages existing in China and divided into seven groups. Take the industrial heritage cluster in Tianjin as the center of the Zhili province as a typical case.On the basis of field investigation, clarify the industrial development, and put forward the classification standard of the industrial heritage.This paper try to discuss the constitute of the Zhili industrial heritage cluster in three aspects: the historical, category and protection level; In order to highlight the value of industrial heritage cluster, This article also analysis the history characteristics, industry functions, spatial characteristics and cultural characteristics of Zhili industrial heritage cluster.The development of industry not only had a great role on the local economy, but also influenced the development and evolution of urban and architecture. This article built a "cluster- chain- point" ladder model of heritage. Through the military industry chain, textile industry chain, chemical industry chain and utilities as the typical case of historical research, this article has been clear about the Zhili industry from introducted western machinery initially to equipment the technology, at the end the elitet use the knowledge learned to carry out scientific and technological innovation. According to value standard in “Nizhny Tagil Charter”, “Declaration of Taipei Asian industrial heritage”, “Designation Listing Selection Guild for Chinese Industrial Heritage”, this paper analyse the value of the Zhili industrial heritage cluster, providing the theoretical basis and research base for conservation and reuse of the Zhili industrial heritage cluster.
