In recent years,due to the rapid development of our society and the constant improvement of people’s living standards,the general public have elevated their aesthetic taste and thus have become more active in pursue aesthetic beauty.Therefore,the various artistic products derived from people’s life and creation have gradually been marked by the features of the times.Among them,the traditional auspicious patterns have become a kind of art form that people love and admire.However,the traditional auspicious patterns must have experienced a development process.This paper attempts to start with the traditional Chinese auspicious patterns,study the cultural connotation embedded in them,and then use it as the source for modern space design.It also explores the long history,the symbolic meaning,and the modes of the auspicious patters and the application of them in modern design of the catering space by bringing out the deep-seated design concept in the auspicious patterns,which makes the modern restaurant design have oriental flavor.It also explores ways of decorating the catering space with the unique Chinese auspicious patterns and proposes methods of how to keep the classic style of the old buildings and add traditional cultural elements to the entertainment consumption places simultaneously in the contemporary and trendy society.Finally,it aims to combine the features of the traditional Chinese auspicious patterns with the good wishes that are integrated into the modern restaurant design.
