Turnout is the basic component for train turning,and it is the vulnerable component in track.All its characters are shown as complex structure,short life time,limited running speed,lower running safety,and time cost maintenance.The designed turnout geometry and relative components dimension shall be reasonable to reduce the wheel impact,guarantee smooth running and improve turnout life time.The small number turnout technology develops fast in China,and there is lots of advance technology.The research and development of MTR 1:7 turnouts are based on domestic and abroad design experience,and the specialty of MTR turnout.It systematically describes small number turnout design method,including geometry,general layout,relative distance,bearer layout and etc.The 1:7 simple turnout main components structure and dimension are fixed.The turnout relative merits are under analysis.The fastening system strength is fixed.The fatigue test is done.It analysis the difficulties of turnout design and manufacturing and makes a summary of main parameter and data.It is a new concept to use Chinese turnout structure in abroad turnout.When a small number turnout is designed,all components standardization shall be considered.S&C design is optimized after finishing the whole design.The optimized design is mainly in the scope of maintenance,and the actual experience.Small turnout design systemization and standardization are the key direction of turnout research.
