Jiangxi Province is one of the rainy provinces in China, annual rainfall 1341-1943 mm,Therefore, the plants in the Rain garden in the area need to have a short-term resistance to flooding. This study carried out field surveys on waterfront wetland plants and landscapes in nine parks in Nanchang City. The survey mainly focused on the selection, application and growth adaptability of plant materials, recording plant species, growth status and configuration patterns, etc. And summed up the plant species in the survey area.A total of 10 species of ornamental woody plants were selected from the following species:Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum?Nandina domestica?Mahonia fortunei?Rhododendron simsii ?Pittosporum tobira ?Ligustrum japonicum'Howardii'?Gardenia jasminoides ?Prunus Cerasifera ?Cinnamomum camphora?Celtis sinensis. It provides a theoretical reference for the selection of plants in Rain Garden of Nanchang City, and recommends the landscape configuration model. The main findings are as follows:(1)Through the investigation of the current status of water wet plants in the waterfront areas of the nine parks in Nanchang City, including four wetland parks, three waterfront parks,a riverfront green space, and 62 riverside green field plots. In terms of species comp osition, there are 85 species,176 genera and 255 species of aquatic plants in 9 parks in Nanchang City,of which 165 species are native plants, accounting for 64.71% of the total number. The families are more dispersed, with trees, shrubs, vines, herbs, aquatic plants, and bamboos. The ratio of species is 53:37:5:19:9:4.5.The ratio of evergreen woody to deciduous woody wood is approximately 1:1;in terms of frequency of application,Metasequoia glyptostroboides ?Salix babylonica ?Lagerstroemia indica?Nerium indicum ?Cinnamomum camphora ?Celtis sinensis ?Ophiopogon japonicus?Prunus Cerasifera are more applications,Pinus elliottii ?Pterocarya stenoptera?Mahonia fortunei were the second highest applications, while that of Broussonetia papyrifera?Morden cvs.?Serissa foetida?Cinnamomum burmanni were least. In terms of growth status, the overall growth of the plants was better, among them,50.59% of the growth was good and the growth was good.In general,it accounted for29.80% of the total, and the poor growth accounted for 19.61% of the total. In terms of plant community structure, the horizontal allocation patterns are mainly monolayer single communities such as Nelumbo mucifera communities,single-layered multi-communities such as Phragmites australis+Scirpus validus, and multi-layered communities of Scirpus validus+Sagittaria latifolia+Menyanthes trifoliata. The reedbanks and shore communities are mainly divided into pure forests(such as pure metasequoia)and mixed forests. In addition, the vertical structure of the plant community can be divided into three plant communities:Arbor-Shrub-Herbs,Shrub-Herbs and Arbor-Herbs.Among them,Arbor-Shrub-Herbs plant community is widely used, mainly Melia azedarach+Osmanthus fragrans+Lagerstroemia indica+Photinia fraseri+Ophiopogon japonicus?Salix babylonica+Nerium indicum +Menyanthes trifoliat? The other two types of community are more commonly used for Metasequoia glyptostroboides+Ophiopogon japonicus?Nerium indicum+Hibiscus mutabilis+Menyanthes trifoliat, the vegetation level is rich;for viewing characteristics, there are most ornamental plants, accounting for 64.70% of the total, followed by the foliage and view-shaped plants, accounting for 26.67% and 49.80%of the total, and the least of the fruit plants, accounting for 13.73% of the total.(2)Selecting 10 kinds of woody ornamental plants to study the adaptability to flooding, and through the research on the changes of morphological characteristics and physiological and biochemical indexes, etc.,it was concluded that the Cinnamomum camphora ?Celtis sinensis ?Prunus Cerasifera were the least harmed or unharmed. It is a flood-tolerant plant and can be used as a preferred plant for greening rainwater gardens. It is used in buffer zones and water storage areas.Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum ? Nandina domestica are second to none, belonging to flood-tolerant plants, and can be used as a secondary plant for rain garden greening. As the buffer zone and the marginal zone,Ligustrum japonicum'Howardii'?Pittosporum tobira ?Rhododendron simsii ?Gardenia jasminoides ?Mahonia fortuneimostly dead in the later stages of the experiment. They belong to the impenetrable flooded plants and can be used as green plants on theedge of the rain garden.(3)According to the field survey and the results of the waterlogging resistance test and the overall plant landscape effect requirements of Rain Garden, the plant allocation model suitable for afforestation of rainwater gardens in Nanchang City was targeted. Therefore,it is recommended that the suitable rainwater garden plant configuration modes include:(1)Cinnamomum camphora+Salix babylonica—Lagerstroemia indica+Cycas revoluta+Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum+Mahonia fortunei—Zephyranthes candida;(2)Cinnamomum camphora +Koelreuteria paniculata—Osmanthus fragrans+Lagerstroemia indica—Ophiopogon japonicus;(3)Metasequoia glyptostroboides+Nerium indicum +Salix babylonica —Rhododendron simsii +Pittosporum tobira;(4)Metasequoia glyptostroboides+Prunus subhirtella—Iris tectorum;(5)Metasequoia glyptostroboides +Castanopsis sclerophylla+Elaeocarpus decipiens —Viola tricolo+Dianthusbarbatus;(6)Pterocarya stenoptera+Cinnamomum camphora+Castanopsis sclerophylla+Prunus Cerasifera —Gardenia jasminoides;(7)Pinus elliottii +Celtis sinensis +Sapindus mukurossi —Hibiscus mutabilis—Zinnia elegans+Euryops pectinatus;(8)Koelreuteria paniculata+Magnolia Grandiflora—Camellia japonica+Photinia fraseri+Ligustrum japonicum'Howardii';(9)Ulmus parvifolia +Pterocarya stenoptera+Salix matsudana +Osmanthus fragrans—Rhododendron simsii +Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum+Abelia biflora.
