Taking Fengshuigou tailings in Liaoning Province as the research object,the mechanical properties of tailings are studied systematically.Its physical and mechanical properties are very important for tailings dam stability evaluation and disease management.The main work carried out are as follows:(1)Screening experiment of tailings collected by machine by the soil laboratory of GZS-1 type high frequency vibration sieve,Determine the sand sample properties of tailings 1 and tailings 2.(2)The tailing sand of Fengshuigou tailings dam is tested by K0 with the SLB-1 three axis experimental instrument,The K0 value of tailings 1 and tailing 2 is obtained.(3)Molding sand and verificating water content of tailings fine sand?dry density?and the degree of consolidation of the triaxial strength.Based on the principle of Duncan Chang model,the internal friction angle and cohesion are calculated.It can be determined that the rate of water content of fine sand in Fengshuigou tailings is at the maximum strength of the triaxial strength at 14%.With the increase of dry density,the cohesive force of tailings fine sand increased greatly.When the dry density is large more,is not obvious about the effect of the friction angle.The degree of consolidation of 64% fine sand tailings thraxial maximum strength.The experiments of UU,CU and CD under different confining pressure of tailings fine sand were carried out.Through the Duncan Chang model,the data obtained from the experiment are processed and eight Duncan Chang model parameters are obtained.(4)The CD experiment was carried out on the tailings coarse sand to verify the triaxial strength under the conditions of water content,dry density and degree of consolidation.The triaxial strength of coarse sand in tailings is obtained by using Duncan Chang tension model.It can be determined that the rate of water content of fine sand in Fengshuigou tailings is at the maximum strength of the triaxial strength at 14%.With the increase of dry density,the cohesive force of tailings fine sand increased greatly.The thraxial strength of the tailings coarse sand is the largest when the degree of consolidation is 60%.The experiments of UU,CU and CD under different confining pressure of tailings coarse sand were carried out.Through the Duncan Chang model,the data obtained from the experiment are processed and eight Duncan Chang model parameters are obtained.(5)Comparison of tailings coarse sand and tailings fine sand,the 8 parameters of Duncan-Zhang model under the conditions of UU,CU and CD experiment.The strength of the triaxial strength of the coarse sand is greater than the triaxial strength of the fine sand.Only the k value of the fine sand in the UU experiment is larger than the k value of the coarse sand;In the CU experiment,instead,the n value of fine sand is larger than the n value of coarse sand.And through the fine sand and grit itself particle properties analysis,are relatively low strength tailings sand.
