Research On The Revival Strategy Of Suzhou’s Characteristic Water System Space From The Perspective Of The Open Block

Open block is a form of urban layout adopted by many countries in the world.At present,the promotion of open blocks is an important issue for China to alleviate urban problems.In the aspect of urban overall structure and spatial layout,it can integrate the block into urban areas,reach a more friendly and close relationship between urban areas with the public activity spaces such as blocks,streets and squares.At the same time,the construction mode of urban neighborhoods is becoming more and more consistent under the impact of globalization,and the traditional features of water city Suzhou are gradually disappearing.Based on the perspective of open block,such strategies like appropriately reducing the size of blocks and restoring the traditional spatial texture of the city,to a certain extent,can solve problems such as weakening of water system spatial scales and vitality loss caused by the irrational layout of the urban blocks.As a theoretical support and practical guide,the thesis is also an enrichment and supplement to the study of urban water system planning.Suzhou has always been famous for its fascinating water space environment formed by the interweaving of waterway space and urban roads.This paper takes Suzhou water system space as the research object,through relevant data research,fieldwork and current status analysis,and based on the implementary policy of open block,the author sums up the unique features of traditional water system space,put forward the designing method of open water system space that is suitable for the development status of Suzhou New City.In order to promote the forming and continuation of the characteristics of water city,achieve the integration of urban area and water system as a dynamic open space,and create the harmonious atmosphere of benign interaction between human beings and water space,the thesis provides effective strategies of planning and forming of space landscape.Starting from the research of water city scene and the status of community in China,the thesis introduces the background,aim and methods of this research at a theoretical level,interprets the definition of water system space,characteristic water system space and open blocks,summarizes the development status of open blocks abroad and large-scale block units in China,analyzes the significance of the promotion of open blocks in China.Summing up spatial evolution process of urban water systems in Suzhou,through the macroscopic,intermediate and microscopic perspective,the paper extracts and summarizes the main elements,characteristics and revival keys of characteristic water systems of Suzhou.Under the urban spatial structure of blockunits in China,it clarifies the declining status of spatial characteristics of water systems and elaborate the reasons for the lack of openness of the waterfront space,reveals the contradiction between closed blocks and open waterfront spaces through investigation,and analyzes the correlation between the open block theory and the spatial revival of Suzhou water system.Finally,from the perspective of urban planning and open block theory,the revival ideas were systematically proposed:forming the structure at the macroscopic level,guiding spatial control at the intermediate level,and carrying out detailed design of the waterfront space at the microscopic level.On the basis of the differences of the Ancient City and the New City of Suzhou,the revival strategies for the vitality and characteristics of space rejuvenation have been put forward respectively to guide the opening process and feature shaping of water system space.
