The Research On The Influence And Mechanism Of High-Speed Railway On The Development Of The Service Industry In China's Urban Agglomeration

Since the opening of the first high-speed railway(HSR)in the world in the 1980s,HSR is playing an increasingly important role in improving the accessibility and strengthening regional contact as the pivotal part of modern transportation.Urban agglomeration as the highest city space form,has great advantages in improving the co-ordination and integration development of region.In recent years,how to improve the links between the cities in the urban agglomeration has been taken more and more attention;at the same time,the service industry,as economic development engine,is increasingly important part in enhancing the overall strength of the city group.With more and more HSRs constructed in urban agglomeration,researching its influence on the contacts between cities and on the service industry in the city group is helpful to clarify the effect of HSR for finding the best layout of service industry and enhancing the overall strength of the city group.The Yangtze River Delta City Cluster with higher level of development of the service industry and a lot of HSRs,is located in Yangtze River Delta region where is the most dynamic region in China.Therefore,this research taking the Yangtze River Delta City Cluster as the object of this study,is to to provide a better path of the development service industry in the domestic urban agglomeration.On the basis of combing the current researches,constructing the multi-period DID model by using the cross-sectional data of service industry and HSRs in 26 cities of Yangtze River Delta City Cluster from 2007 to 2015,the thesis has an empirical test on the HSR's impacts on the development scale and spatial agglomeration and diffusion of the service industry.The empirical results show that HSR has played a significant role in promoting the expansion of the service sector,especially in the fields of Culture,Sports and Entertainment(S13),Scientific Research,Technical Services And Geological Prospecting(S8),Management of Water Conservancy,Environment(S9),Hotels and Catering Services(S4),Health,Social Securiy and Social Welfare(S12),Public Management and Social Organization(S14).HSR has a positive and soft effect on the overall space of the service industry,while at different stages of the HSR's opening its effects is different in different cities.HSR promotes the aggregation of information transmission,computer services andEducation(S11),Information Transmission,Computer Services and Software(S2),Scientific Research,Technical Service and Geologic Prospecting(S8),Real Estate(S6).HSR promotes the diffusion of Culture,Sports and Entertainment(S13),Wholesale and Retail Trades(S3),Hotels and Catering Services(S4),Management of Water Conservancy,Environment(S9),especially in the fields of water,Management of Water Conservancy,Environment(S9)and Culture,Sports and Entertainment(S13).Finally,put forward the policy suggestion of the development of the service industry of the urban agglomeration under the influence of HSR.
