In today's China,as a means of transportation combined with modern civilization and high-tech,high-speed railways play an increasingly important role in improving regional accessibility and strengthening regional connections.Furthermore,as an engine of modern economic development,the service industry is an important starting point for China's industrial upgrading and transformation,and its role in promoting regional economic development is becoming more and more significant.Therefore,in the golden age of the rapid development of high-speed railways,exploring its impact on the development of the service industry will help to clarify the impact mechanism between the two,so as to better enable policy makers to more scientifically plan the service industry within the urban agglomeration and layout.The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is one of the regions with the most vitality,the highest degree of openness and the strongest innovation capability in China.The urbanization level and the development of modern service industry are among the highest in the country,with certain typicality and representativeness.Therefore,this paper takes the special region of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration as the entry point,and uses the panel data of the service industry and high-speed rail opening situation of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta in 2007-2017 to construct the DID model to explore the impact of high-speed rail opening on the service industry of urban agglomeration..Through theoretical and empirical analysis,the paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The opening of high-speed rail has positively promoted the development of the urban agglomeration service industry,regardless of the division of the service industry into capital-intensive,labor-intensive and knowledge-intensive.The type of service industry,or the city is divided into central cities and sub-central cities,the results are positive promotion;(2)high-speed rail opening has no significant impact on the market-oriented urban service industry development,low degree of marketization The development of urban service industry has a significant role in promoting;(3)According to the mechanism regression analysis,high-speed rail is based on the improvement of accessibility,and the development of service industry is played through the integration effect of factor resources and the optimization effect of industrial structure.The main contribution of this paper is to provide a new research perspective.The current academic research on the development of high-speed rail is very limited,and the service industry is very rare.This paper attempts to supplement relevant research gaps from different perspectives.Secondly,the research methods in this paper also have certain innovations.In the existing literature,due to the limited availability of data,the indicators for constructing the development level of the service industry are mostly employed by the service industry,but each industry contributes to the development of the service industry.According to the maximum likelihood estimation method in factor analysis,this paper obtains a comprehensive index through factor analysis of 14 industries in the service industry segment to measure the development level of service industry.
