At present,China's rail transit is in a period of rapid development.People are increasingly aware of the importance of rail transit to alleviate urban traffic problems and promote urban development. In recent years, the popularity of research on rail transit stations has also been on the rise. Most of the research has focused on the intensive use of the land around the station and the transportation system planning of the hub site.Only a few cities have begun to pay attention to the quality of pedestrian space environment around the site. However, the construction of a comfortable and convenient walking environment can encourage more people to choose public transport and promote the public traffic travel share. As the starting point for most travelers on a daily basis, the choice of travel mode for residents around residential subway stations is particularly important for the development of urban public transportThe research of this project takes the walking space in the residential metro station area as the research object.Taking the needs of users around the site as the starting point,we first select four typical residential subway stations in Dalian to conduct questionnaire surveys and interviews with users around the four stations.Through data analysis, the main characteristics of the users of residential subway stations and the major factors affecting the overall satisfaction of respondents for the walking space in the station area are obtained. On this basis, field surveys and path simulations were conducted on the walkable spaces of the four sites, and the characteristics and problems of each site were analyzed from the aspects of continuity, safety, convenience, and comfort, combined with the previous respondents.Summarizing the characteristics of the pedestrian space in the residential subway station represented by Dalian with subjective evaluation. Finally, based on the problems of long distances in the station area, conflict between people and vehicles, and lack of shelter and rest facilities, they walked within the station area from the aspects of improving the pedestrian system and transfer system, creating a humanized walking space and establishing a reasonable policy orientation. The optimization and transformation of space proposes targeted strategies. It is hoped that the pedestrian space environment within the residential subway station can be effectively improved, and people's use of public transportation can be improved. It is hoped that this study will provide an effective optimization strategy for the improvement of the pedestrian environment in the residential subway station and provide the basis for future research on related topics.
