The rapid development of rail transportation in our country compels us to pay attention to the impact-of residential subway station on travelling as well as the pursuit of transportation efficiency and effectiveness of life, when a new subway station is planted in an old district which presents a different living pattern or when a new subway station emerges in a new district. As to residential subway station and its surrounding public services, our country is at an early stage with significant Chinese characteristics, so foreign design pattern is not conducive for the unique needs of people in our country.First, it provides an overview of residential subway station and its surrounding public services in foreign metropolitans, determine key concepts and related theories, and analyze the share proportion of metro rail transit in city travel to prove the timeliness of this thesis, as well as determine the content of research.Then, taking Chengdu as the study case, the author analyzes the characteristics of people who travel by subway around different residential subway stations. Through research, the author analyzes and summarizes the request of people who travel by subway on public service facilities around subway stations. On this basis, the author comes to a conclusion that its main type of public service facilities is "commercial facilities-based, educational facilities-supplemented"According to the main public services facilities, the author analyzes impact of people who travel by subway on distribution elements and using rule of public service, including distribution element influenced by residential based on commercial, using rule of commercial facilities and educational facilities influenced by working workers who travel by subway and so on. In addition, it conducts a status investigation on the residential-type classification of some residential subway stations in Chengdu.Finally, from the request of people who travel by subway, considering the specific urban spatial form, combing request with realities of urban planning, this thesis proposes surrounding facilities of residential subway stations built with public services and its overall pattern. The overall pattern of public service facilities includes different basic elements. Considering its specific conditions, related elements in overall pattern can be selected to constitute in surrounding area of residential subway stations. By the theory and case, it also elaborates emphasis on two aspects of distribution:mature subway station and its surrounding public services facilities in city and new subway station and its surrounding public services facilities outside city.Based on the needs of people who travel by subway, the thesis makes a theory exploration on the integrity, hierarchy, openness and sustainability of residential subway station and its surrounding public services, providing reasonable approach for the development and design of residential subway station and its surrounding public service distribution. Propose specific strategies with the construction.that has strong theoretical and practical significance.
