The 19 th NPC report clearly stated that it is necessary to respond to the aging of the population,to construct a policy system and the social environment for the aged with filial piety and respect for the elderly to develop the agingindustries.At present,agingproblem is an important issues in China.It's necessary to attach great importance to aging problem and construct an aged-care system that suits our national conditions.Under the policy of vigorously promoting home-based care,the subject of this paper is on the barrier-free design of internal space of the elderly for urban residents living alone.Under the guidance of the environmental behavior of the elderly living alone,this paper mainly focuses on the barrier-free design in inner space.Firstly,it conducts on-site investigations on related facilities covering facilities,color,space combination and residential use of urban single-family houses in urban apartments and elderly college.Besides,thedesignproblems of pension homes and demand of the elderly for pension homes will be summarized,by using collectedinformation.Secondly,through analyzing the physiology and psychology of the elderly and related behavioral environment,their interior designdemand will be concluded.Furthermore,it has explored suitable design of home-based retirement home and interior space accessibility designfrom living room,bedroomand other auxiliary space by combing the outstanding cases both at home and abroad.Finally,the author summarizes five design principles of the suitable interior spaces for singleton-aged elderly,including versatility,intelligence and care,flexibility and sustainability,which focus on the elderly and based on independence and security.The research on barrier-free design of elderly living in cities for the elderly will further improve and renovate the existing theoretical research and design patterns so as to provide practical guidance for the design of the elderly residential care in the future.
