In today's society,the car has become an indispensable part of human life.The increase of car ownership is making the energy crisis and environmental pollution more and more serious,which forces people to pursue cleaner vehicle emissions and lower fuel consumption.Fuel consumption is directly related to vehicle emissions,so the fuel consumption detection has become an essential task.The carbon balance method is not only practical in the way of fuel consumption,but also more efficient in the work efficiency.Therefore,the study of carbon balance method is very meaningful.The main components of the fuel is hydrocarbon.According to the law of conservation of mass,the total mass of carbon should be consistent before and after burning,therefore,we can detect the carbon emission of exhaust gas to calculate the fuel consumption.For the detection of fuel consumption on a diesel truck,by making it run on the chassis dynamometer to simulate the running on an actual road at a constant speed,the gap between the fuel consumption of carbon balance method and the scale method are explored.And in order to correct the calculation model of carbon balance method,three aspects of correction have been carried on the model,which are the correction of coefficient,the correction of concentration of carbon gases and the correction of smoke.This makes the numerical value of fuel consumption in carbon balance method become closer to the real numerical value.At the same time,because of the existence of error of the measurement,the uncertainty of the calculation model has been analyzed.Test results show that compared to mass-measured method,the numerical value of fuel consumption of carbon balance method is lower,but the trends of fuel consumption is consistent,this shows that carbon balance method is feasible,the correction of fuel consumption results show that the fuel consumption of the coefficient modification model is lower than original value,the fuel consumption of concentration modification model is lower than original value and the fuel consumption of smoke modification model is higher than original value.
