With the continuous increasing of the scale of natural gas vehicles and upgrading of the energy-saving and emission-reduction requirement,the requirements for fuel economy of natural gas vehicles are also increasing.Traditional gas consumption measurement methods cannot meet the needs of rapid and non-destructive inspecting.GB 18565-2016“Composite performance requirement and detecting methods for road transport vehicles” and GB/T18566-2011“Inspection and evaluation method of fuel consumption for road transport Vehicle”have been formally implemented.The carbon balance method has been widely used in fuel consumption testing for the gasoline vehicles and diesel vehicles.But there is no calculation model of carbon balance method and standardization of measurement methods for natural gas vehicle.In order to achieve rapid and accurate measurement of fuel consumption and perfect the standards of fuel consumption measurement method for natural gas vehicles in GB/T18566-2011.Firstly this paper analyzes the research status of natural gas vehicles and carbon balance method at home and abroad,based on the types and characteristics of natural gas vehicles,the single fuel natural gas vehicle is selected as the research object.Then the feasibility of the carbon balance method of single fuel natural gas vehicle is proved by analyzing the physicochemical characteristics of natural gas and the emission characteristics of the single fuel natural gas vehicle,and the advantages of the carbon balance method are demonstrated by comparing with the traditional methods.The model of carbon balance method is established and verified by actual vehicle test.The advantage and applicability of the natural gas vehicle carbon balance method are proved by comparing the relative error of carbon balance method between natural gas vehicle and the diesel vehicle.At last,based on the measurement and error theory,the error sources in detection process are analyzed.The error transfer coefficient and influence of every parameters' fluctuation are calculated by simplifying the calculation model.The optimization measure of the detection are given.The results of vehicle test show that the calculation model of carbon balance method for single fuel gas vehicle is availability.The relative error of carbon balance method for single fuel natural gas vehicles is more less than diesel vehicles'.So it's available to use the carbonbalance method to detect fuel economy for the single fuel natural gas vehicles.
