The connection of steel structure is one of the problems during construction. It also is one of the key points of steel structure engineering.Due to the large weight and high complexity of steel structure in actual structure, the safety requirements of steel structure connection are relatively high. The connection of steel structure in actual engineering is usually connected by using bolts. Therefore, the analysis of bolt connection is very important task to ensure the safety of equipment. The Movable Scaffolding System(MSS)mainly consists of main beams, transverse beams, guide beams, mould plates and bracket supports. It should be noted that the MSS can move from one pier to next pier by using the guide beams. In order to gain easy transportation, the guide beams are composed of multi-segment parts using the high-strength bolts. To reasonably design the bolted joints, the finite element model of MSS was set up to achieve the load-time-history of reaction forces on the guide beams. The method of moving the displacement constraint location in finite element model was applied to simulate the motion of MSS on piers. The design of bolted joints was evaluated according to mechanical analysis. The maximum ratio between finite element results and theoretical results was 6.6.Therefore,the design safety factor of bolts on the guide beam can be determined to be 7.It should be noted that there is a height difference between the supporting points on the piers. In order to analyze the influence of height difference on the bearing capacity of bolt, the finite element model of MSS with high difference was established. The fitting curves of bolt bearing capacity were obtained when MSS passed over the piers. So the maximum allowable height difference value of 0.05 mwas obtained. The results showed that this method provided in this paper can be used to determine the bearing capacity variation process of the bolt group in each connecting section of guide beams. The method can be used for the same type of construction equipment.
