In the contest of the modified clause of the current《code for design of masonry structures》(GB50003-2011),in considering of the mechanical property degradation problem cause by corrosion of rebar existing in the present reinforced masonry,a new method of using GFG(glass fiber geogrid)replace the rebar which is paved in the horizontal mortar as reinforcing materials to reinforced the masonry structure was put forward,the reinforcement effects and failure mechanism of GFG reinforced masonry was analysis on the basis of experiment.The article had finish the follow work:(1)The research on the axial compressive property of GFG reinforced masonry.The article made the compression test specimen of compressing fly ash brick and autoclaved aerated concrete block,changed the strength,pavement location,grid size of GFG as the test parameter,9 test specimen groups totally contain 27 specimens was made,compared and analyzed the mechanical behavior and failure mechanism of the test specimen.The experimental result show that the GFG paved in the horizontal mortar have no effect on cracking strength of masonry,but obviously improve its axial compressive strength and ductility.The strength of the GFG is the principal factor for the axial compressive strength of masonry,the pavement location,grid size of the GFG have a little impact on it.(2)The research on the bending tensile property along the gear joint of GFG reinforced masonry.The strength,pavement location of GFG and mortar thickness was changed.7 test specimen groups totally contain 21 specimens was made.The article making a comparison and analysis of every factor’s effect on the bending tensile property along the gear joint of this masonry.The experimental result show that paving GFG in the horizontal mortar can improve the masonry’s bending tensile strength and ductility along the gear joint.(3)The research on the shear property along the straight joint of GFG reinforced masonry.The test parameters were mortar thickness.4 test specimen groups totally contain 24 specimens was made.The influence of those parameters on masonry’s shear strength was compared and analyzed.The experimental result show that the shear property is related to the thickness of mortar.Paving the GFG or hardware cloth in horizontal mortar did no work.(4)The research on the shear property along the ladder straight joint of GFG reinforced masonry.6 masonry walls were made,2 was unreinforced,the others were reinforced respectively with GFG or hardware cloth paved in the horizontal mortar.The influence of GFG on masonry’s deformation ability,cracking load,and ultimate load under the loads along the diagonal direction was analyzed.A conclusion was made that this masonry wall reinforced with GFG get an effective bending rigidity of inclined shear deformation and ductility improvement.The shear strength along the ladder straight joint improvement of autoclaved aerated concrete block masonry is more obvious compared with that of fly ash brick masonry.Some further study about this topic remaining were raised in the end.
