The Campus Culture Expression Of Campus Wayfinding System

Enrollment expansion in colleges and universities has created an upsurge of campus construction.After the reconstruction,expansion,and construction of new campuses,the space environment continues to expand.Excessive campus outdoor environments and missing campus infrastructure facilities can't meet the needs of people,the construction of colleges and universities has also manifested the phenomenon of heavy tangible material construction and light intangible campus culture connotation.Although the size of campus wayfinding system facilities are small,it is a visual element with prominent function,they are functional landscape features that can regulate the campus environment and shape the campus brand image.How to use the campus wayfinding system as an important infrastructure to help people better identify the campus outdoor environment,highlight the characteristics of campus culture,enhance and shape the campus image is the focus of this article.Using the method of field investigation and questionnaire survey,this paper investigates the current situation of outdoor campus wayfinding system in 15 colleges and universities in Guiyang,and analyzes the problems in the outdoor campus wayfinding system of universities in Guiyang.On the basis of the Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA)of campus culture and the satisfaction related analysis of campus wayfinding system,in view of the problems of lack of function,lack of campus cultural characteristics and imperfect system construction,the optimization design strategy of campus wayfinding system in Colleges and universities in Guiyang area is summarized as follows:(1)Improve the function of the campus wayfinding system,such as setting the location node of the campus guide system according to people's activity distribution and behavioral characteristics,and arrange guide information according to people's reading habits,add lighting elements in the design,etc.The perfect use of service reflects the humanistic construction and standardized management of the school;(2)highlighting the advantages of campus culture,according to the results of campus culture Importance-Performance Analysis,the advantages of the campus cultural elements,such as architectural landscape,plant landscape,school motto,school wind and school song,are highlighted in the design,and the cultural characteristics of the campus wayfinding system are enhanced;(3)standardizing the design elements of campus wayfinding system,optimize the design elements such as the modeling,materials,color,and scale of the guidance facilities according to the analysis results of satisfaction of campus wayfinding systems,and improve the integration of the guidance facilities and the surrounding environment,so as to strengthen the cultural expressiveness of the campus wayfinding system;(4)comprehensive design of multiple elements,make a clear expression of the main and secondary elements of each element,to guide the overall planning and design,establish relevant systems and personnel,to maintain the construction and use of the campus wayfinding system.Subsequently,a practical case is used to verify the practicability of the optimization design strategy proposed in the paper.This article has deepened the study of the cultural characteristics of campus wayfinding system to some extent.It hopes to provide reference for the construction of the university's guidance system in other regions,so that the design of campus wayfinding systems in Chinese universities can be developed in a better direction,and the campus landscape design in the future will have more extensive practical and reference significance.
