City is the biggest reason of carbon emission,and city emission reduction is one of the important means of sustainable development.The developed European countries have already explored and practiced the sustainability of city from the space technology means,besides our country has gradually carried out the planning and construction of the new city area with various theoretical trends.This thesis is based on a variety of values to explore what is real "sustainable" "sustainable city",and with the values through the method of Pairwise Comparison,Multicriteria Matrix to explore the condition that sustainable city should have,public space should be between the blocks.In addition,the comparison and evaluation of urban public space in the context of sustainable development of cities are presented in new urban areas of China and Europe.In the research,public space in block is divided into three different kind of space:plaza and park,non-motorized transportation space and commercial space both in Kunming Chenggong District and Bicocca&Isola in Milan.Using the method of Pairwise Comparison to weight assignment of projects,to evaluate the space according to the performance of two new district in the same value but different perspective.The evaluation results it is concluded that the weakness of public space between the blocks in Kunming Chenggong District such as low efficiency,lack of people and humanization.Then come out what experience we can learn from Milan such as detailed design,mix the function of the public space,open the space and so on.Finally,Put on research proposed the for the next research content.
