As a kind of traditional power machine, internal combustion engine has been widely used.As an indispensable system in internal combustion engine, lubricating system plays a key role in suppling sufficient and clean lubricating oil with proper temperature to every friction surface to reduce the friction loss and wear to ensure the performance, economy, reliability and durability of internal combustion engine. As one of the lubricating methods of commonly used compound lubricating system, splash lubrication is usually applied to areas where lubricating oil is difficult to be delivered by forced lubrication or low load position, such as cylinder wall, gears and cam and it has an advantage of simple structure.Based on a practical issue of a company which splashed oil is insufficient in one column of cylinders of a V-type engine during the splash lubrication process, this paper aiming at the process of cylinder-piston splash lubrication, establish a simplified 3D fluid model. This process is simulated by using ANSYS Fluent based on CFD,VOF multiphase model and slide mesh. Then the data which is picked up by monitor is computed and analyzed to obtain the oil distribution and quantified result. The paper compare the oil volume that is splashed into each side of cylinder and then further discuss the influence of different oil immersion depth, different oil viscosity and different crankshaft rotating speed on this process. Results show that in the original shape of balance weight of this engine, when the view of the crankshaft rotating direction is clockwise, oil is always easier to be splashed into the right cylinder.Aiming at this phenomenon, make some improvement to the balance weight shape and recalculate this process. It is found that the new shape contributes to the imbalanced oil volume issue of this process. The result analysis of this paper is not limited to a specific type of engine, which provides a certain reference for all kinds of engines.
