When the vehicle is running,the alternator plays an important role on the vehicle.The alternator's good or bad performance can have great effect on the work of vehicle's electrical components.Because in the operation of the vehicle,the alternator may not work properly,such as nothing output from the alternator or the output voltage's fluctuation is larger or producing high surge voltage and so on,these phenomena will produce bigger harm to the vehicle's power equipments.We know the ordinary alternator test system can only operate an alternator test before it is loaded,it cannot test when the vehicle is running,so the ordinary alternator test system is poor real-time performance and flexibility.This paper combines the virtual instrument technology and the hardware technology together,to design and study a real-time testing system about automotive alternator's parameters.This system can real-time test the parameters of the alternator,and it has high precision,good stability and high collection rate,it also can be used to operate a static test or an automotive test.The article's main research content is as follows:First of all,based on the analysis about domestic and foreign status of ac generator testing systems,we sort and evaluate them from the acquisition speed,accuracy,stability,and whether can test on the vehicle,to establish the design idea of putting virtual instrument and hardware together,and instruct the operability of the LabVIEW software as well as the types of virtual instrument's data collection system in detail.Second,the design of this system,include hardware and software.The part of hardware in system is mainly accomplished on signal transmission and collection work,it is constituted of sensors,signal conditioning board,data acquisition module and PC platform.The part of software is based on LabVIEW platform to complete the testing system,the system can collect data elements real-time,turning data into curve and displayed on the program interface,saving and analyzing data at the same time.Finally,revising the real-time testing system about automotive alternator's parameters,the revised testing system is going accessory work,the testing result and data have been analyzed.In the accessory testing,each module of this testing system works well,the testing result fully proved the feasibility and reliability of this study.
