Research On The Earth Wall Of Vernacular Dwelling In Hubei Province

With China's overall strength constantly increasing,under the influence of the wave of globalization,various cultural trends are emerging into China,which reduced the gap of cultural exchange between countries and strengthened economic and cultural development,but also caused that some cultures with geographical features gradually weaken and fade.It is a contradictory and very important problem we have to think about and solve-how to inherit the fine Chinese culture and at the same time,to strengthen exchanges of globalization without being assimilated and losing national essence.The industrial revolution in the 19 th century allowed people to pursue a more comfortable living environment through the prosperous economy and advanced technology,at the cost of consuming a lot of resources and emitting large quantities of harmful substances.Earth material,as an ancient building materials,is still used today.Due to the environmental performance and convenient sourcing of raw soil material,it is mainly used in many underdeveloped countries.This paper intends to summarize the distribution,form and composition of earth buildings in Hubei Province and organize the historical background and pattern of earth buildings.And through the survey and field test on the old earth buildings in Hubei,it uses test data to better illustrate the excellent performance of earth buildings,focuses on analyzing its architecture and construction,and comprehensively evaluates it.It strives to comprehensively summarize the present characteristics of earth buildings in Hubei from both the macro and micro perspective.And in the context of large areas of earth buildings being demolished,this paper is of great significance to the protection of regional culture and folk culture in Hubei,and proposes a number of effective ways to protect and repair earth buildings today.
