As special equipment in the field of port,mine,shipyard and other material handling,crane plays an indispensable role in the construction of Chinese economic infrastructure.Safety and reliability of crane have always been the focus of scholars and users,however,there is little concern about the energy utilization efficiency for crane,which is restricted by old design concept and corresponding policy guidance.Although China has introduced several standards for testing crane energy efficiency and they can cover many models,the detection scheme is comparatively simple.Also its rationality and accuracy are still to be discussed.So it is really important to detect the energy consumption and evaluate the energy utilization efficiency of crane.This research will promote the energy saving in the field of hoisting machinery and enhance the establishment of relevant industry standards.This paper takes the portal slewing crane as the research object in order to establish a system to realize energy consumption detection and energy utilization efficiency evaluation.This system can calculate the energy efficiency of different mechanisms and the whole machine according to detection data,and then output the test report which the level of energy consumption and energy efficiency is shown on.Firstly,the energy consumption of the portal slewing crane is analyzed according to its work process.The working process is divided into two aspects: 4 main operating mechanisms and the whole machine.Following mechanisms' working processes,complete quantitative analysis and summarize the calculation formula of energy consumption.Then the energy flow of the whole machine is analyzed according to different period of the working cycle diagram which is drawn based on mechanisms' analysis.In order to improve the energy efficiency of portal slewing crane,this paper also analyzes the recyclable energy and puts forward the feasible scheme of energy recovery.Secondly,considering the current energy consumption detection method is not detailed,this paper does research on portal slewing crane detection method systematically.Combined with the characteristics of the energy consumption of crane and the definition of energy efficiency in the industry,the parameters needed to be measured are clearly defined.In accordance with relevant standards,the scheme and instruments of supply energy measurement are determined.Also the method of effective energy calculation is developed based on the portal slewing crane's working characteristics.Then propose the scheme of energy consumption testing which is divided into four parts: testing conditions,testing items,testing procedures and testing cycles.Finally,based on Visual Basic 6.0,the system of energy consumption detection and energy efficiency evaluation for portal slewing crane is built.Before building this system,its functional requirements are analyzed firstly through the survey on Chinese ports.Then the overall framework of this system is determined and the design of related interfaces is introduced in this paper simultaneously.In order to verify the reliability of the system,a test is performed on MQ4040 which is a portal slewing crane in Qingdao port.Through acquiring energy consumption data and inputting them into this system,its performance can be tested,such as accurate calculation of energy efficiency and the automatic generation of testing report.
