On the basis of the ordinary belt conveyor,air cushion belt conveyor replaces the rollers with an air chamber,thereby replacing the support of rollers with the support of air cushion,which greatly reduces the friction force of conveyor belt during the transportation process.Because of its advantages,air cushion belt conveyor has been applied more and more widely in the bulk material transportation industry.During the development of conveyor in the direction of large capacity and long distance,the problems of energy lost and poor stiffness of traditional box air chamber appear gradually.According to this situation,a new type of air chamber structure is proposed in this paper,which replaces the traditional integral air chamber structure with several air chamber branches,and the new air chamber structure is theoretically studied.The air chamber is mainly composed of the box and the groove.This paper summarizes the recent development of the groove,analyses and selects reasonable structure of the groove and the arrangement of pores on the groove.At the same time,this paper puts forward a complete structure of the air chamber,and establishes models of two kinds of air chambers.Then according to the knowledge of the fluid mechanics,the sectional area formula of two kinds of air chambers and the formula of Reynolds number are derived,which can be used to judge the flow state of gas in two kinds of air chambers.By analyzing correlation formula of fluid flow in pipe,the calculation formula of pressure of gas flow in air chamber is preliminarily obtained.Finally,according to the size parameters of the two structural air chambers,three-dimensional models are established in Pro/E,and the pre-processing is carried out in workbench,and the flow simulation is carried out in the fluid simulation software Fluent.Combined with the theoretical calculation and simulation results,the pressure distribution and energy loss of flowing gas in air chambers,the change of air pressure and velocity in air chambers and the pressure distribution of the air cushion formed in two kinds of air chambers are obtained.By comparing the data of air flowing in two kinds of air chambers,it isproved theoretically that the air pressure in the new structure air chamber is relatively uniform,the outlet pressure at the outlet of air pores is high and the energy loss is low.
