In recent years,the total output value of construction has increased year by year,and its proportion of GDP has also kept rising.In 2016,the total output value of construction was 19356678 million yuan,accounting for 26.03% of the GDP.As we all know,the construction industry is a labor-intensive industry that requires the support of a large number of construction workers.More than 95% of the construction workers are migrant workers.The contribution of migrant workers to the construction industry should be recognized by the society.At present,most of the migrant workers in the construction industry are engaged in first-line construction activities.They are regarded as physical labor with lower occupational status.In the traditional concept,they are without the possibility and necessity of career development.There are many problems in the construction industry,for example,the low rate of holding licenses,unreasonable skill levels,serious aging of the labor force,shortage of labor force and so on.However,these problems have not been completely solved and many scholars have begun to explore solutions.Many of these studies have mentioned the solution to these problems through the career development of migrant workers.There has been little research on the career development of migrant workers in the construction industry.Firstly,it sorts out the history of the appearance and development of migrant workers in the construction industry through reading and analyzing literatures.And then,it summarizes their characteristics based on the analysis of the existing data.Besides,by referring to the existing research on the career development of migrant workers in other industries and combining the characteristics of migrant workers in the construction industry,a questionnaire is designed.The questionnaire is issued on the ground to investigate the occupational development status,career development willingness,and career development direction of migrant workers in the construction industry.The SPSS19.0 software is used to collate and analyze the data obtained.The four items of age,monthly income,interest in training,and skill level have significant impact on career development intentions.However,the four items of education level,working years,contract,and the encourages of company have no significant impact on career development intentions.Migrant workers in the construction industry have demand for career development in three directions: technology,management,and training instructors.Based on the basic research,it has constructed a comprehensive career development path for migrant workers in the construction industry,including vertical and horizontal career development channels.The vertical career development channel covers three directions:technology,management,and training instructors.It also sets job classification and qualification standards for each channel.At the same time,it also proposed measures to ensure the implementation of the career development path,such as understanding concepts,education,training system,performance appraisal system,salary system and so on.The career development path of migrant workers in construction industry provides a new method for the construction industry to change the labor quality structure and age structure and provides a basis for improving the social status and salary adjustment of migrant workers in the construction industry.The career development increases the enthusiasm and stability of migrant workers in the construction industry.In addition,it provides a new research perspective on migrant workers in the construction industry.
