Design And Research For The Entrance Space Of Historical And Cultural Blocks

The entrance of the historical and cultural blocks is the very important part which is the interconnection point to connect the inner blocks with the city public space.It has the function of both for separation and interconnection.When the time enters the 21 th century in Ch ina,cities have been developed very quickly.Some are renewed and some have been reconstructed.All these have been done in turns.Series of problems have occurred because of being focused on development only.The new cities are bigger in space than old cities and the entrance in old cities can not satisfy the requirement of the new cities.During the period for the protection of historical blocks,the central part of the historical blocks has been paid more attention.Both sides of the entrance space have been lack of highlight status.This paper starts from the two angles of "historical and cultural blocks" and "the entrance space",eventually falls to the positioning of the “person ” explaining the historical and cultural blocks and the entrance space and making the analysis after experience,trying to research through basic theory and the constituent elements of the entrance space,making the comparison analysis with the cases that have been built,then making the analysis of the problems existed in the current entrance space,being started from people's basic requirement to provide suitable design plan for the purpose of directing the specific project—design of entrance space of Jianguo Road This paper is divided into five parts:Part I has presented the understanding of the researching topic.First of all,it has presented the background and significance of the design and study of the entrance space of historical and cultural blocks;then it is summarized the current researching status both at home and abroad and made the determination of the study object and range;finally it has pointed out the research method and framework.Part II has introduced the relative concept of entrance space of historical and cultural block.Through definition the concept of the historical and cultural blocks and the entrance space,analyze the elements of entrance space including boundary,area,buildings,roads and paths,landscape planting and infrastructure and define the relative concept of the entrance space of historical and cultural blocks.Part III has described the general condition of the entrance space of historical and cultural blocks in Jianguo Road.The dissection design for the landscape planting has been made based on the user through the general description and the existed problems have also been analyzed.Part IV has discussed the image design for the entrance space of historical and cultural block in Jianguo road.Based on the investigation on the four classical entrances of historical blocks in site,analysis and evaluation of the entrance space has been made through the angle of people and the requirement and research strategy of the design for the entrance space has been provided.Finally provide a design for entrance space of historical and cultural block for the user by the designer.Part V has described the measures for the image design of the entrance space of Jianguo Road.Based on the above theory research and analysis combined with specific case in Jianguo road including the struc ture of the entrance space,floor pavement,building elevation,plantings and infrastructure,protection and renewing measures have been made.The purpose of this paper is trying to apply theoretical research to practice.It has provided suggestion and advice for the design of entrance space of historical and cultural blocks from the angle of people and also reference for the design and reconstruction of the entrance space of similar historical and cultural blocks in the future.It has positive effect on protecting historical and cultural blocks,integrating it with urban development and realizing the sustainable development of historic cultural blocks.
