Civic Cultural Center Design Research

With the rapid development of digital technology in recent years,the globalization of culture has grown significantly.The way of cultural communication depends more on the Internet and the media,and its characteristics have become more convergent.In this context,the position and role of public buildings in cultural development have also evolved.Cultural buildings are no longer merely places for citizens to carry out single cultural activities.They also assume the role of cultural communication,redefining regional culture,and creating urban communication space.At the same time,the contents and forms of civic cultural life are not only passively accepted,but also are mass cultural activities that actively and emphasize the participation of the masses.Therefore,the functions of public cultural buildings are also more integrated.Civic cultural architecture is one of the types of public buildings with comprehensive functions and multiple social and cultural connotations.In recent years,it has gradually become one of the important development directions of cultural architecture.With the development of society,the growth of population and the diversification of forms of cultural activities,problems have also arisen in old cultural buildings such as the lack of effective use of cultural building space,the disconnection of transportation from the city,and the inability of a single function to meet the needs of integrated cultural activities of citizens.In the urban environment,the old cultural buildings also lacked the consideration of regional characteristics and excessive pursuit of exaggerated modeling.The emergence of a civic cultural center was based on the consideration of the above issues.As a comprehensive public cultural building,the civic cultural center building not only needs to meet the needs of the citizens for cultural activities,but also requires the expression and dissemination of urban cultural brands.After a comparative study of several public buildings that meet citizens’ cultural activities,including examples of public cultural buildings and nationalfitness buildings,this article discusses the design of the civic cultural center.The Civic Cultural Center hosts citizens’ cultural activities,including citizen-oriented cultural activities and mass participation in mass fitness activities.These activities emphasize the participation of the masses,and their activities need more flexibility and openness.For the determination of the spatial scale of civic cultural activity venues,it is necessary to consider the types of activities it carries,the needs and characteristics of the users,and the openness and dynamic adaptability of the venues.Functional spatial scales and spatial sequences should all be built on the needs of related cultural activities;the design of traffic flow lines should be linked to urban transport,so as to increase spatial accessibility and participation of the people;architectural modeling should be based on selection of the type of architectural function and choice of a model that suits the local urban environment,expresseing its meaning,and having an affinity.
