A Study On The Clan Temples In Traditional Villages Tied By Blood

The culture of clans in traditional villages tied by blood is one of the important contents of social life in Chinese countryside,and this culture is also one of the essential perspectives to get to know Chinese traditional local society.The studies about the related contents of clan culture can not only help people understand the history and current situation of China's social life,but also enlighten the future development of China's society.However,with the rapid development of China's urbanization,the vanishing of Chinese traditional villages is increasing,and this caused the destruction of clan culture and clan temples in many traditional villages because of the unreasonable development and utilization of them.To address this problem,many Chinese scholars have gradually started the research work of clan temples in traditional villages,so as to draw people's attention to the clan culture,protect and inherit the dying clan culture.In the traditional villages tied by blood,because the structure of the clan in the village remains intact,the network of the village was produced and has developed under the influence of the clan,and the clan temples,as the carrier of the clan's consanguinity,are more typical in this village environment.So studying the clan temples in traditional villages tied by blood is more helpful to realize the value and significance of clans and clan temples culture in the society now.With this background,this paper took Yuelou village and Yue Family's clan temple complex as examples to analyze the ancestral clan's origin,clan culture,village environment,architectural form,decoration art and other aspects of Yue Family clan temple,and then made a comprehensive value evaluation to provide theoretical guidance for the protection and inheritance of the clan temple in order to find a way that is suitable for modern development.From the perspective of sociology and heritage protection,this paper first made a detailed analysis of the origin and development process of Yue Family in Yuelou village on the basis of a large number of on-the-spot investigations,interviews with the villagers and literature reviewing.Combined with the results of the discussion on the clan society,this paper also analyzed the geographical environment of Yuelou village and the village's layout with the influence of the clan society.Secondly,it describes the historical background and current situation of the Yue Family' clan temple complex,analyzed the cultural background and structure level of the Yue Family' clan temple,and based on this,this paper started to study the architectural form and decorative art of the Yue Family' clan temple,mainly from the orientation,plane,facade,space,structure,decoration and other aspects of the construction.Finally,this paper evaluated the overall value of Yue Family clan temple complex from two aspects: sociology and heritage protection.Based on the cognitive value,this paper brought up some thoughts and suggestions for the resurrection and utilization of the old buildings in the process of modernization,which can provide some reference for the theoretical studies of clan temple complex in other areas,and this paper took the inheritance,protection and development of the existing clan temples as afinal foothold.
