With the development of the society and the diversity of market products,the competition among enterprises based on products,services and technologies is becoming increasingly intense.Therefore,product innovation in terms of service and technology has attracted a lot of concern from the society and enterprises.The study and application of the product innovation supporting methods also become the focus of many fields.In many existing product developing methods,the users? needs are generally used as a starting point.During this process,a lot of users? "demand" information may be neglected;at the same time,the design of product functions and the corresponding technologies are not accurate and efficient,etc.These problems can increase the time and cost during the whole product developing process,and even affect the enterprise ?s industry status.This paper studies the concept innovation design method of mechanical products based on the Extenics knowledge and proposes a users? needs-facing method.This method uses the matter-element theory in Extenics starting from the users? needs “needs” to study the acquisition process of users? needs and analysis methods in the product development process to find methods that effectively avoids neglecting information during users ? needs investigation;combine the user needs information with product functions;obtain functional information of the product through mapping need affair-element to the functional affair-element.Through the extensible analysis and extension transformation of functional matter-element,the final evaluation and optimization are used to obtain the final functional information of the product.On this basis,the matter-element theory is used to describe the technical information of the function implementation,and the method for transforming the correlation between the functional components is studied to solve the problems existing in the technical aspects.At this point,the function of the product and the components that correspond to the function are basically determined.The structural relation-element of the product is obtained through the mapping of the functi onal matter element,which provides information support for the product structure,and several reasonable innovative ideas are obtained through selection.Integrate the above information to form a complete product concept to evaluate and optimize it.Final ly,the validity of this method is verified by the conceptual design of the actual product.The main innovations of this paper are as follows:(1)From the users? needs,investigate and analyze users? needs;use matter element theory to conduct formalized research on users? needs and product functions,and fully exploit the needs information of the product to be created.a mapping method between need affair-element and function element is firstly proposed,which combines the users? most realistic and accurate needs with the products to be created to design a product t hat can better satisfy the users? needs.(2)With the in-depth study of the correlative analysis theory in extenics,the transformation method of the correlation between matter elements is proposed and used to solve the technical problems in the realization of product functions.At the same time,the correlative analysis method of the affair element is proposed,and the evaluation composite element is used for correlation analysis to effecti vely solve the correlation analysis of the functional affair-elements in the product conceptual design process.Based on this,a method of mapping product structure relationship elements based on functional affair-elements is proposed to provide effective analysis methods and solutions for product function realization and structural design.(3)Based on the research results of the above theories and methods,an effective users? needs-oriented conceptual design method for mechanical product design is formed.The formalized research of the user needs and product functions proposed in this paper has solved the problem of accurately determining the product function according to the users? needs,and can effectively solve the problem of omission of information during the conceptual design process according to the users? needs.At the same time,this paper also conducts in-depth research on the correlative analysis theories of extenics,and proposes the method of the correlative analysis of the matter element and the transformation method of the correlation among the dynamic matter elements.Based on the improvement of the correlative analysis theory,the concept design of the product is also proposed.The process to achieve the corresponding technical problems to conduct effective research and solution.On the basis of improving the first creation method of extenics,a more operative and more effective conceptual design method for mechanical products is formed.
