Research On The Fine Design Of Bus Lanes

Giving priority to urban public transportation has become the main strategy for the development of urban transportation.The layout of bus lanes on the city's main roads is a basic form of public transport priority.Judging from the practices of layout the bus lanes,the effects in some cities is not obvious,and it even has a negative impact on the traffic system.Firstly,from the micro-level,the paper introduces the setting methods of bus lanes for road sections and intersections,and summarizes the advantages,disadvantages and adaptability of various bus lanes modes.Then the paper introduced the problems in the design of the bus lanes in our country in each key node through studying bus lanes in 132 cities all over the world.And then searched for better methods to layout the bus lane in the section and intersection by case analyzes.The paper analyzed the independence of the bus lane system from the bus lanes and bus stops at the intersection.It is concluded that the channeling design of the bus lane and the bus stop at the intersection is beneficial to the priority of the buses in the road.Based on the road center line analysis method,the concept of specificity of bus lanes is proposed.Secondly,from the perspective of median-level,the paper selected the median bus lanes and bidirectional bus lanes from different cities,and compared the key indicators and characteristics of the cases between the bus lanes in Chinese cities and in other cities.The key indicators include the basic conditions of the roads for bus lanes,the distance between bus stops,the distance between intersections,and pedestrian crossing facilities.From the perspective of the macro-level,the paper selected the road network and bus lane network within 10 km~2 of 10 cities all over the world.And the total length of bus lanes,the density of bus lanes,the coverage rate,the area ratio of bus lanes,and the percentage of different types of bus lanes were compared.It found that the forms of bus lanes in Chinese cities are unitary,and the development of bus lane system is not mature.In the end,the author summarized the essential reasons for the problems existing in the bus lane system of Chinese cities,and put forward corresponding improvement strategies.
