With the acceleration of urbanization,the improvement of people's quality of life and the increase in income levels,the demand of traffic keep increasing during the past decades.However,for many cities,due to poor road network planning or uneven distribution of resources like education and job opportunities,the traffic supply is smaller than traffic demand.There have been varying degrees of traffic congestion.Due to the late start of urbanization in China,most of the current researches focus on how to ease the congestion in the city.There is insufficient research on the economic losses caused by traffic congestion.In order to analyze the ecomomic lose due to traffic congestion,this paper first analyzes the traffic characteristics of a certain area,then uses the transportation simulation sofrware to simulate the road network and obtains various parameters for the future economic cost loss calculation.Finally,system dynamic is applied to analyze and propose potential solutions to reduce traffic congestion and estimate congestion cost loss estimates for different scenarios.The main research contents and results of this thesis are as follows:First,combined with the traffic volume data,the traffic time and space characteristics of each road section are analyzed,and the overall understanding of the road network traffic characteristics and congestion of the proposed study area is obtained.Second,based on transportation simulation software Trans CAD and road traffic volume,the back-adjustment of O-D matrix was carried out.According to the results of O-D inversion,the running speed of each road section was simulated,which provided the data foundation for follow-up research.Third,based on all the data,the proper calculation methods of economic lose were chosen.In this thesis,the methods to calculate the additional time cost,fuel consumption cost,and pollutant emission increase cost were chosen.Based on the results,the annual calculations were carried out,and the range of the cost of various losses resulting from the traffic congestion in the proposed study area throughout the year was obtained.Finally,the simulation software of system dynamics was used to simulate the traffic system.According to the simulation results,the possible congestion mitigation policies were proposed.The economic cost loss of different policies was estimated by combining various economic loss calculation methods.
